I BBQ'd Pork shortribs in the smoker for a group of 50 people this weekend.
Our 2nd oldest daughter got married in our back yard, hopefully I will have an album up on Picasa soon.

Ribs & Smoked Salmon were big hits!! I also made BBQ sauce.. mmmmm

Congrats on alll counts: your daughter's wedding (foremost), ribs, salmon and sauce! :D

No, it just means that the sun is high enough for a drink ... which for many sailors (and others) in the old time was after 12 o'clock noon.

At last! After 20 years, I have finally gotten a vacation. The last few months have been very busy. I went on vacation to post to the BBQ thread!!!

I need suggestions on some good BBQ places here in Myrtle. Any ideas??

Sorry, sitting in the hotel room, away from the sun. (My face and shoulders are BBQ'ed!!!)
Anyone with any BBQ places in North Myrtle Beach, SC? We have already eaten at Capt George's Seafood Buffet as well as did the Calabash Fried seafood. we have four more days here.

Rain, rain, rain and more rain - no BBQ for such a long time ... :(

I sympathise with you, compudog ...
I have been in Myrtle Beach in <petrus thinks ... > 1986. None of my knowledge i probably relevant just now ... but I think I remember someone recomending: Little Pigs Barbeque. Is that something?

A few days ago, I visited my cousin's new farm for the first time. He gave me the grand tour---new barn, new shop, new tractor, newly planted fields, etc. The last stop on the tour was a pig sty.

"Rudy, this pig is my pride and joy. He was the first livestock we got for the farm. A wedding gift."

"It looks like a pretty nice pig, Cousin. But why does he have a wooden leg?"

"A few weeks after the wife and I moved into our new house, we had gone to bed after having a nice evening in front of the fireplace. Evidently, a spark popped out onto the carpet and set the house on fire. We didn't notice because we were asleep. But the pig saw it, crawled out of the sty, ran to the house, and beat his snout on the window to wake us up. The pig saved our lives. He's a fantastic pig!"

"You're right. That's a fantastic pig. But it still doesn't explain why he has a wooden leg."

"A few weeks later the wife was staying in town while I fixed the house, which was slow going because I still had to do the spring planting. Anyway, I was out in the south forty plowing the field on my new tractor when I hit a boggy spot and rolled over. I was pinned under the tractor and if I didn't get help soon, I would die. But the pig saw it, crawled out of the sty, ran to the field, grabbed my jacket and pulled me out. He saved my life. He's a fantastic pig!"

"Okay, okay! He's a fantastic pig. But why does he have a wooden leg?"

"Rudy, when you own a pig that's this fantastic, you don't BBQ him all at once!"

Do something to celebrate if you're a fan of Douglas Adams.

I'm going to get my towel.

BTW, we have a fantastic BBQ place here in boerne called "Rudy's". They usually cook the entire pig all at once, though. I think I'll go eat there today.
