My wonderful sweet old cat Jarvis was recently diagnosed with feline diabetes. I started doing tons of research (see signature) and following the vets insturctions. Today was a 2 week check up and it appears that I will be able control his diabetes with diet alone. Only about 30% of cats with diabetes can be diet controlled!

Anyway I just was excited and thought I'd share!

Actually he CAN have BBQ, but no bread or other carbs.

Sorry about your cat, Liz. We have 4 of those wonderful beings ... and we love them dearly. About cat diabetes: it is not only the food - it also the excersize ... he needs to burn fat and carbs. climbing, jumping, moving. I hope he loves that ... OTOH: playing around with them in vigorous play helps a lot.
BTW, here are our cats. I know, the site is in Swedish, but the pics say more than a thousand words ...

Also our kitteh's have a a GIANT jungle gym to play on, and they do. The evil orange one also likes to bite the other 2 cats on the rump to instigate chases. And we bought a really thick wand toy that moves a little slower for the old gentleman (Jarvis) to swat.

Yeah, we bread them - not many (one litter each second year and for one cat only) and we do it for the cuteness and the fun - not like others - for profit and yes, Queenie is a champion, and one certificate away from International Champion. ... We are expecting kittens in about 5 - 6 weeks ...

A cat and I lived with each other for about 21 years.
Her name was Brynne.
None other like her.

My Boxers keep me busy now.

Very nice sunshine, - 20ºC, 70-80 cm powdery snow.

I need to run to the Post Office and see if my shipment of green Kona coffee beans has arrived. The I'll break out the roaster and eventually brew up some very fine coffee.

What a wonderful Sunday it has been. <I really miss the sun smiley!>
Only -1ºC during the day - now it is just past sunset and already -6ºC. Colder will it be ...
But the snow ... skiing ... dug out the BBQ, but did not have enough energy to get it going ...

Our Flat-Coated Retriever, Pella(third from the top,) is going to have a litter in March. The puppies are so cute!

All Retrievers LOVE BBQ.

My Boxers love BBQ too.
Regular store type sauce gives our white Boxer hives.
The one with no HFCS and also home made sauce does not give her hives.
Boxers are know to be intolerant of corn, perhaps the HFCS intensifies the reaction?

I miss PCTC2 though - but assume that he has hands full of school and fianc&#233;e ...

What a day: started wich 2 h of lecturs, then admin, then seeing patients, then lectures ... for a total of 12 hours today. But that day is over. We had a nice dinner, some TV, and now the sack.
