Hmmm... Grilled Tuna Melt, you say? What happens if I grill a Tuna Steak, chop it up, melt cheese on it, and eat it on grilled bread?

Peter. You're recovering. Your body needs energy, therefore BBQ. It will not be satisfied until BBQ desires are met. 😛

Is it bad that when I'm doing heat transfer problems for a chemical plant, all I can think of is the heat transfer problem within a gas grill?

Wow, those are nice reciepes! I can imagine the wonderful smell ...

But ....
Just a little bit OT, don't you think? This is after all a BBQ reciepe thread.

OTTH: You need to drink when having BBQ ...

Hard decisions ... 😀 Since I am sooooo gooood at ignoooooooring, I'll let this pass ... 😉

I thought I read mention of Redhook. Mmmmm. That is a fine beverage. Liquid Goodness. I am especially fond of the Long Hammer IPA.

I am fond of some "local" breweries around here in San Diego. If any of you are ever in the area, we'll have to grab a beer and some BBQ.

Mud Slinger is pretty tasty.

Back when Redhook first went into business they were located in a very small triangular yellow building in Ballard, a mostly nordic area of Seattle. The building was all of about 350 square foot, made of brick and painted bright yellow. I'm sure the rent was very low.
They had one beer at that time, Redhook Ale.

You could only get it at drinking establishments, and so one day I was at such an establishment and they were announcing this bold new beer. So I gave it a try.

To let you know about how long ago that was, the joke line "it's a floor polish - no wait, it's a dessert topping - no wait, it's both" was considered fairly new comedy by a small group of people known as the "not ready for prime time players" from Second City. (the quote is actually from Chevy Chase and is: "New Shimmer is a floor wax AND a dessert topping" he settles the argument between Gilda and Dan)

So I turned to my friend Mark and said in my best attempt at an impersonation of Danny Aykroyd, after taking a long pull from the beer glass:

"it's a floor polish - no wait, it's a dessert topping - no wait, it's both"

This got a big laugh from all around me, as I mentioned before the saying was actually popular at that time. Associating it with this bold new beer was hilarious (apparently).
So I've always been fond of Redhook from that day long ago and I continue to try out all the new stuff they produce. I'm not fond of several of their attempts but Black Hook is good, as is Long Hammer and of course the Original Ale.

This new Mud Slinger is really quite tasty, a dark brown ale that's very malty but not quite a stout. It's a good beer with Pizza, Popcorn, and of course it should go without saying... It's great with BBQ!

When Redhook Ale came out, I would go to a bar in Seattle Center each Saturday and have a few pints while reading my mail that I had picked up from the nearby Post Office.

it is the only beer that I have ever seen where a person would order a pint, take a sip, put it down, and order something else. I asked the bartender if any regular Redhook drinkers came to the bar and he said, "Only you."

My favorite is Redhook ESB. I would have a keg at all my bbqs, which I held before every Sounders home match.

Of course, this all took place before I retired.

blah. I'm going to be without internet for a day or two, while I redo the entire network... unless I "ignore" at work.

I had my first taste of Redhook Ale at the Comcast Center in Philadelpia at a Flyers game in 2008. It was cold, on tap, and paid for by my friend (Cheers! Free Beer!) But after the event, I was still somewhat taken by the brew and had to learn all I could about the brewery.

We have outside just now -24ºC = -11.3ºF and falling ... The comps are great - in the computer room the temp is 11ºC = 52ºF. Great ...
