Me too. Nice Saturday. :sun:

OT: Going to upgrade this computer (my secondary) to a C2Q ... see how fast it will go when OC'ed.

I'll ignore all this until the fat lady sings ... ;)

OT: I got a new MacBook Pro for myself for work. I use a Mac Mini at work and would like to do work from home sometimes.

I think I'm going to BBQ Salmon again this weekend.

OK, the quad is upp and running: just a small OC (from 2.5GHz to 2.8GHz) but it seems stable ... :D

I'll put it to highere clocks later ... this weekend! ;)

You guys are lucky. I wish I could build a new comp soon. This Opteron is getting old.

I had my E2160 OC'd to 2.4 for quite awhile but last week I jumped it up to 3.0 and has been running perfectly. Still not even close to the E7200 in performance but non the less gets the job done.

Which quad is that?

I'm still waiting for Lynnfield to build another computer and re-purpose the rest.

At least I'm through with OCFEVER. No more for me. My servers are now all underclocked. But not undervolted because the motherboards don't support it.

Now to SALMON!

Push it to at least 3.0GHz Petrus! (depending on motherboard, that is).

And then cook some ribs on it.

Just now 3.15 GHz humming along. Still stock Vcore. Going to push that a little - but I need a better HSF first: I use a Intel-cooler (which came with the Q6600) now and that one is quite a lot better than the stock cooler which came with the current CPU.

Hmm, with the "old" Intel CPU-cooler, the CPU OC'ed to 3.15 GHz, the temps are 53 - 57 degrees C at 100% load (seti@home). This is not too bad, considering that the CPU is for 2.5GHz ... a nice 26% overclock ... I'll probably take it to 3.4 - 3.5 GHz with proper cooling and adjustment of Vcore ... :)

Is this the Q9300 processor that your OC'ing? With that Oc and using the stock HSF, those temps are really good! Btw, what is your vcore set at now? I just couldn't ignore this, sorry.

Oh I'm hungry too....:)

No, it is Q8300 I am OC'ing. I am using an old Intel HSF which came with Q6600: the HSF is higher, has more fins and a more powerful fan. I am looking for a spare part for my Tuniq-cooler. When I get that one mounted, I'll use some ICD-paste (I have some left for one CPU), and I'll increase the pressure between the HSF and the CPU with a few washers for best results. Then I'll increase the Vcore (stock: 1.280 V) to e.g. 1.300 V and OC somewhat more ...

BTW, now I am running @ 3.300GHz at stock Vcore and it passed 8 hours of Prime98 without errors - a 32% OC. I just love these Yorkfield 45nm processors! :D

I was raised on a ranch, but I'm not a cowboy. It was a turkey ranch.

I was a henboy!

I once ate a turkey that didn't fit in my oven. Had to chop off a good portion of it.

We are having a great late summer here: sunny, just now approx. 20 degrees C (it is 6.15 am), almost no wind.
