Although I am not ignoring your pain PCTC2, - I very much hope that no permanent damage has occured and that the trouble and pain has passed - ...
I am still ignoring the fact that it is too cold for BBQ: I just had a nice salmon in the grill - outdoors.
Hot grill, hot salmon perfectly cooked, potatoes baked in the hot charcoal, a nice cold beer in my hand.
That is a Saturday, my friends.
Then it does not matter that the sun is behind some clouds, that some small amount of the white fluffy stuff came down from the sky ... - 5ºC is quite comfy ...
The salmon was hot, the beer was cold, the kids were skiing and so was I.

-23 degrees F. How does the grill get hot enough to cook something!! It gets 40 degrees (F) here, and I don't know what to do it's so cold. Granted, the worst cold weather I had was -60 with the wind chill... That was just plain horrible.

As I must agree that pretty much anytime is a good time to have a BBQ but -16C (here today) is pretty cold. And last night it dipped to -28C, that was just plain wrong. And thats not counting the windchill that dipped to -35C. So that cold beer would be an ice beer very quick. Oh and Salmon sounds really, really good about now, along with that :beer:. I still love the weekends!
Peter, you mentioning the food just made me hungry😛

FMC, you are like a brother to me, but sometimes you get it plain too cold: -5ºC is +23ºF and not -23ºF. That (-23ºF) is very much colder: -30.5ºC - and that is just too cold for most barbies (Oz word for BBQ). +23ºF is quite comfy ... and the beer is very good ... 😉

Cheers, my friend! ... and I agree: -16ºC is at the limit for a BBQ ... unless that is the only choice you have . A wind screen helps a lot - you cut the wind chill factor and reflect the heat from the BBQ ... a tarp and 2 - 3 poles is more than sufficient.
 
I did burgers and dogs on the gas grill last night (about 20F (-6C)). I was ignoring this thread at the time. Alas, no BBQ.
 
Its eerly evening here again and food is mentiond. Im going to eat! I was ignoring this thread but NOT the food comments!🙂
 
Tuesday morning ... Lectures all day ... new monitor ordered: Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP. The old has too many pixel problems - OTOH: it is more than 7 years old.

Woo. I sent in my 7950GT cuz it was artifacting and eVGA sent me back an 8800GT. 😀

And I finally finished building my i7 GTX 260 SLI rig. It still needs to be bled tonight... OUT TO DINNER
 
I never realized how few people there are to talk to at 1 AM. I'm bored and rebuilding my i7 rig.
