he portrayed a charming, but pathological gay man whose enjoyment of a lifestyle he could never have made him kill repeatedly (as well as lie).

Whether you liked it or not there were definitely scenes were you must have felt a lot of tension. The guy would lie and get busted and somehow explain his way out of it. Then he would get busted again and something worse would happen and he'd have to figure some way of getting out of it. It was pretty entertaining to me to see him try to extricate himself from these problems he caused. It struck a nerve in me because I'm sure as kids we've all lied to our parents one time or another and gotten busted for it. The movie I thought pulled out the same sense of fear of getting busted but on a much grander scale.
