This show is so bad but I just can't stop watching. I love the vampire SEAL team, always showing up whenever they're needed.

It really is bad. The only thing that is keeping me watching is hoping the Vampire SEAL team is secretly being led by Blade.

The Master looks like they stop his costume off a set of a movie that SyFy rejected due to it being so low budget. And, I wonder if the Mexican gangster is going to be recruited to the vamp hunting squad. I was hoping he would join up with Eph and his crew, but the multiple story line angle could work.

What I don't get is Marlo (don't know his char name)
could headshot vamps with ease, but couldn't hit Gus at all when he had a couple of free shots.
Granted, it was a funny moment, but come on!
I'm glad the mother isn't in the equation anymore. Too bad they couldn't have gotten rid of Ephraim and his kid at the same time.
This show seems to use the Walking Dead formula where they have annoying characters on the show just to add drama. At this point you would think things would be pretty cut and dry for the characters. Gus is still on the outside, but at least he acts like you would expect him to without knowing the backstory that the other characters know.
I also don't get why they felt the need to actually kill the mother. They think if they kill the master things will revert, so they should have just left her alone.

I am so glad they removed the mother. She was worthless and added nothing to the show. "Oh, a crazy person! How intriguing!" - said nobody, ever. And, I don't think "reverting" is really what they expect. More of just stopping everything.

Well, if things just stop and the worms die, maybe the person could recover since they are not dead. Especially since they know the vamps remember things about their past lives, and even go home.
I can even understand if they killed her as soon as she was but, but I guess I object to 5-10 minutes they spent dancing around the options. They didn't really need to kill her at that moment. I thought what Gus did with his mother made more sense. Just walk out and close the door.

I think the mother was to tie setrakian's wife to the horror of losing a loved one and having to cut their head off. It was a powerful scene. Imagine if you had to cut off your own mother's head?

IMO I felt it more when Gus found his mom in the closet vs. the chick. Even though Gus had less scenes his relationship with his mom gave me the feels.

Meh. I wasn't close to Guss for being a criminal and he didn't cut off his mother's head. He just dropped the bat and closed the door. His mother showed up like what? Twice in the show?

I bet Guss has some explaining to do to the Vamp squad about transporting the coffin. That's the only reason I can think of as to why they took him and stuck a bag over his head.

Had to rewind to verify but looks like daddy dint give the old guy any worms. Wonder what that effect will be.

Nice to see the rocker fianlly innvolved again. Think he's the only "enhanced" one from the airplane that was still alive. And it's not a bad thing that mommy went bye-bye.

Wonder how many levels of vamps there are, as the ones assisting in the awn shop attack seemed to be fairly cognizant, perhaps not quite as much as rocker boy though.

Hunter squad shows up again for another interesting but brief apperance. This time using full auto weapons than the steak thrower.

Supposedly this season mimicks the first book, and if extended that nexg two will be covered with about 2 seasons each. Wonder if the squad had such a limited appereance if you were reading.

Had one WTF acting moment, and admittedly this may be an effect of not extracting the scene from the book as well to film, but when the chick goes downstairs and starts talking to the game, and somehow takes like 2 minutes to notice this pickled organ tissue sitting on the table next to him, that got to me.

The Strain finale tonight...

I sure hope the pacing isn't like the last 11 episodes...

Wow seriously? Are they retards? They just stared at the master the entire time he was down when they could of stabbed him in the head.

Pacing was good tonight , finally. Agree that situation with master was too dumb. No way he should have gotten away. It thought they killed the mom in Bolivar?
Old man knows nothing about a whole society of vamps, eh? Never ran into these hunters? Although they did say he broke a truce, so maybe they werent actively hunting. Got to wonder what the truce was now though.

I didn't know the rats in NYC were so big, that all the exterminators had TNT to get rid of them.

Also, didn't know vamps could "rewind" like that, it is as if they forgot to shoot them retreating, so they did the next best thing, use the footage from before, except in reverse!

So, next season, we get to meet...

Think they believed he would go up pretty quick in direct sunlight like the normal ones do.

This other vamp faction doesn't seem to have the same facial deformities that the master and his german buddy do, wonder what the reason for that is?.

Haven't read the books, so don't have any hard details but I imagine there are multiple vamp factions, and the truce is probably something along the lines of so they didn't have to keep killing ech other, controlling the number of vamps in each faction, and prevent wiping out their food supply.

I would think the truce is because of the spread of the vamps after being bitten and they are largely uncontrolled for a while. They will go home and continue to infect, until eventually, all humans are vampires and they don't have anything to eat.

In the flashbacks, the master was always killing his victims, thus preventing them from turning I'd imagine. But, the turned in NY are just go around infecting anything they don't outright kill and spreading the worms. That can't be good for the food supply.

Also, why didn't they (after the master jumped into the sun), burn his coffin? They can't put it back together if it is ash. And, if he wasn't going to use his minions for shielding from the sun, why did he call them back? I could understand the German, but the mindless ones could have just stayed and bought him more time.

Why does the master have a turkey gobbler thing on his neck?

Worst monster ever.

When "wood carver" was in that room with the Master and the master was quicly moving around, the master could have easily taken wood carver's head off.

That rich guy who has better health now reminds me of Joe Bidden. LOL
