The one effing me in the ass just pulled out. I sold 5/6 of my portfolio. Huge loss, but still within reach of being made back in one rally.

I'm no market expert, but who sells when it's down?

dammit, I bought in some a few days ago, looks like I caught a falling knife.

Fortunately, 2/3 of my investing money is still on the sidelines.

People who gamble on significant further falling. I lose 10% now, but if it drops another 10%, that's a 10% profit as opposed to par when it recovers. If the job report were not scheduled for tomorrow, I wouldn't be concerned, but I've got serious money on it being shit tomorrow morning.

I've got about 35 more years or so of time to invest... so i'm gonna keep calm and not panic.

looks like he liquidated a part of his portfolio in hopes of swing trading on a short run up and making up for any losses. I'm no trader...so I dont have the balls for that

There hasn't been any good news since like May. It's not going to be gruesome tomorrow, but it won't be pretty on the report.

Anyone think tomorrow will be a medium-large rebound? Nothing close to recovering everything lost today obviously.

I think the disappointing (and I love how it's always "unexpected") unemployment figures will put a stomp on any large gains. There just have been zero positive economic news the last two months.

Me neither. Knowing my luck If I sold when the market was off 4% it would rebound 6% the next day.

Read me like a book:).

Preserving my principal, and making cash available. Right now, I'm looking for a bottom (couple days of little change) before re-entry.

Why hire if no one wants to purchase. You build up inventory; All expense and no income.
Do you work for free?

And if the government is going to screw around with what we can/can not manufacture; the safe thing is to stand on the side of the road for now.
no one wants to purchase becasue they cant find a job... want to stimulate the economy? hire people... once they have money to spare, they will willingly spend it.

Someone has to to take a short term loss to stop the vicious circle... IMO business owners are the only viable choice to do it.
