Like some others in this thread, I spend most of my day in front of the PC at work, and am growing to hate sitting in front of pc when I get home.

I am 30 now, and until about 4 months back had been an axclusive pc gamer. My enthusiasm for gaming had been dying for some time. Then I bought a 360, and I am actually enjoying games again.

Though I have barely touched my pc for gaming in the last few months, I still felt compelled to upgrade when the new ATI cards came out. I know it was probably a silly purchase as I am not likely to use it much, but it is going to be my last ever gaming upgrade for my pc.

The only problem I have, and the main reason for still maintaining a pc capable of gaming is that I can't hog the TV to myself all the time. So over the next couple of years I will work towards having a room and tele dedicated to gaming, and then will drop the pc for gaming entirely.

I just prefer sitting back on sofa or bean bag to play games. Sitting on the pc feels too much like work. Plus, I am sick of software and hardware issues, driver updates, etc, etc. I like that I can just stick the game in the 360 and not have to worry - its not crashed or hung on me yet 🙂

I don't think the pc will ever die totally as far as gaming is concerned though. I do however think there will be less reason in the future to have a gaming capable pc, as consoles improve.

I don't know how anyone can enjoy a console game when have the time is spent merely erratically snapping your index finger, trying to shoot someone while xbox autoaim takes care of the rest.

Sounds immensely gratifying.

You guys who are complaining about not liking to hunch over to play PC games, is it possible you need a new computer chair? The one I'm sitting in right now has really big arm rests, and there's a cross bar under my computer desk. I have my legs on top of the bar and touching the wall, and I'm slouched so much that much of my body weight is resting on my left arm, which is on the arm rest. If I was using an armless computer chair, there's no way I would even want to play computer games. Slouching is half of the experience.

Ill admit, i have a crappy chair. but i was never in a position to afford one until recently, and at the moment i live at home with my mom...

sooo yeah my chair does suck, but i stilll game on it heh.

one thing i do notice with pc gaming, its too cluttered with FPS.way too many FPS, i love me some fps, but wowsa. some icky ones out there

What do you think the console game selection is?

At least PC Gamers have the option of playing strategy games that look good and have tactics besides "ZOMG LETS RUSH THAR BASE LOLOLOLOLOL!!!1!!!"

Theres a hell of a lot more game genres than just shooters, whether it be first or third person.

Theres adventure games, platformers, RPG's, fighting games, sport games, driving games... and yes, even strategy games.

I think people are trying to keep this discussion mature, so can we not keep it that way? You obviously have something against consoles, and you are welcome to your opinion.

Most of us are simply sharing our reasons why pc gaming has lost much of its appeal for us, and possibly why these topics come up from time to time.

Wait until you have children then it won't matter if its PC or Console ...you'll just be glad to play anything. Going to work will be relaxing. Going to the bathroom without having a two year old pole-dancing around your leg is a rare treat too...

whatever man, i was simply stating an opinion.

I think the only threads that should be locked are the obvious trolling ones. Of course it seems like this topic has been done to death.

It has since been reincarnated and once again beaten to death. There's a new PC gaming is dying thread what, bi-weekly it seems sometimes? I can't see the harm in consolidating them.

I think breaking off console gaming to its own forum has defused most of the bickering. A few stiff words from a moderator can squelch any sparks that arise. Most of us have seen the debate so much we're sick of it by now, and will simply ridicule anyone who tries to start something. In short, don't worry too much about it.
