Wow, Eric! Those are some great lifts. I saw your 700lb deadlift in the other thread. Raw strength right there. Keep it up!

I hate the Squat, and the Squat hates me. I had my 2nd cortisone shot in my right knee April 30th because of this accursed lift.
I want to thank the OP for this thread, as I need every motivational kick in the ass possible to reach my goal of Squatting 600 at the USPF Powerlifting National Championships (Master 45-49 Division) July 4th.
From May 16th:
135x5
225x2
315x2
405x1
495x1
545x1 - http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=dqt9jp&s=5
3200 + 119980 = 123,180

My Orthopedic surgeon says that as long as I don't twist my knee (I have to keep it tracked straight over my foot) my micro torn right ACL won't get worse - as both ends are anchored firmly. The pain is caused by arthritic swelling against the inside of my knee cap (happens in both knees, the right one is just way worse) - which the cortisone is supposed to minimize.
I'm 99% sure after the WPF World Powerlifting Championships November 11-15th, I'll never Squat again. So between now and then I need to accomplish what ever I can in 3 lift Powerlifting meets. After that I'll concentrate on single lift competition - Deadlift only and/or Bench Press only meets. I'll limit my leg training to 10 to 20 rep leg presses with feet high on the platform, minimizing knee stress.
Thanks for your concern, and well wishes![]()
