Might as well add a squat challenge. Someone needs to do the bench press. (I only use dumbbells).

Damn that's a lot of volume, what program are you doing?

I did some quick OHS practice with the bar today while waiting for pull-up station to open up

2x6x45 = 540 LOL

Do we really need every single exercise for these type of threads? Seems a bit excessive. Keep a journal or somethin'.

No, just the squat, bench, and deadlift. This is a community effort/challenge, not a log.

What kind of squats are legit for this thread? Back squats, front squats, OH squats, the squats that are part of cleans/snatches, air squats, dumbbell squats, etc? Anyways, I assume back squats are certainly legit, so I'll toss in yesterday's 20 squat workout:

135x5, 205x5, 245x5, 225x20 = 7425 lbs

My vote is for back, front, and OH to be included. I think anything beyond that would be diluting the numbers. I suppose dumbbell could count too since we have some people that don't have access to barbells.

20 @ 225! Holy crap!

I'm predicting the next thread: "Bailout" of Bicep Curls: 700 billion pounds (weight, not GBP)!

I still think others could just hop on the bandwagon with one of the others. This is getting to be a bit much. Feels spammy almost.

Lol, I guess I'll join in here since squats are the main heavy weight work that I do:

10x45
6x135
4x185
3x225
2x265
1x285
5x3x285

Total = 7,765

Total + 65,710 = 73,475

BTW, OP, why do you do such a large amount of volume? I remember reading that you said you do this via your own program. Care to explain why?

Short answer:

Broke my wrist and had to stop madcow. Did heavy leg press (45 degree sled) three times a week with calf raises. Roughly 20 sets and 10 sets each every time respectively. I gained a lot of strength in my legs, so I carried it over to my squatting routine on recovery. Smolov is definitely an inspiration.

I hate the Squat, and the Squat hates me. I had my 2nd cortisone shot in my right knee April 30th because of this accursed lift.
I want to thank the OP for this thread, as I need every motivational kick in the ass possible to reach my goal of Squatting 600 at the USPF Powerlifting National Championships (Master 45-49 Division) July 4th.
From May 16th:
