Make conceal carry legal in all 50 states and lift the ban on assault weapons.

At the same time, make gay marriage legal in all 50 states.

Put these into the same bill. No one will disagree with it! The conservatives will praise the gun portion, and the liberals will praise the gay marriage portion. Thus, the bill will pass without any fuss and everyone gets a nice compromise. The gun law won't hurt liberals and the gay marriage won't hurt conservatives even though both groups fear the others' portion of the law.

Done, problem solved. Everyone gets more freedom!

Well that's the way to get it done. Or bury it in some obscure bill that now one cares about and will just say Aye for it to get it out of the way.

It would never pass, and if it did, Bush would just veto it since he disagrees with half of it.

I'm all for it as long as theres a blurb about mandatory training classes for the guns, as well as retests.

Most of congress wants to ban guns and stop CCW? News to me.

A position such as yours is definately anti-freedom. You seek to limit the freedom and lives of others.

That is, by definition, authroitarian. And authritarianism is a large part of fascism.

So instead of being insulted by what you are, at least embrace it... or realize it's not really your position after all.

i am not seeking to limit freedom, because neither freedom exists right now on a national level. If you think not supporting expansion of freedoms to whatever you personally want is authoritarian, then anyone who disagrees with your ideas re: new freedom will be authoritarian. That is surprisingly convient byproduct of your position, isn't it? I want everyone to have the freedom to strip naked and run throughout the country wearing nothing, if you disagree you are authoritarian!
