The smartest kid in the world

Czar

Lifer
and this is no joke

love this part 🙂
There never was a chance of steering Greg away. He could recite the alphabet at 1. He turned to vegetarianism at 2 after studying dinosaurs and realizing that humans, like herbivores, had flat teeth. At 4, he was doing basic algebra and reading Jules Verne. He deduced the truth about Santa Claus on a library visit that year when it dawned on him that books about St. Nick were filed as fiction.
(if anyone reading this belives that Santa is real, then I'm sorry)

He's not too smart if he became a vegetarian based on the fact that dinosaurs had flat teeth and some of our teeth are relatively flat.

He certainly looks like a vegan.

Feel sorry for that kid.

Some (many?) exceptionally gifted children get hoisted onto pedestals by family/friends and they suffer for it. He'll never understand the joy of rock-hard bubblegum from a pack of baseball cards or enjoy mindless fun playing video games.

It's cool that he is smart, but I really wonder about his goals in life. World peace and saving the children? Trying to discover the Unifying Theory?

Unifying theory would be cool-ass work. I dream of being able to work on that kinda stuff.

Personally I'd say fsck the children.

I suffered from it. I was pruned to go to Cal Tech or Oxford as a child. My parents were extremely overprotective. I couldn't even spend the night at my cousin's house as a child. I wouldn't let my kids skip grades, even if they were gifted. It's hard to learn how to socialize at 17. My friends can attest to that 😉

That's a little presumptious. On Oprah it showed him having fun playing video games and being a big fan of Price is Right.

In essence, WTF is the Unifying theory?

He got got B's in Undergraduate work, he's not smart.

Did you read why? He got B because he didn't take the prerequisite, or because he missed classes due to travel.

The theory that unifies gravity with all the other forces of the universe.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking when he mentioned getting 4 doctorates by age 30.

Where the hell are you guys getting these assumptions from?

Having done the child college thing, I have to say he's in for a rough ride. He'll get sick of it - REALLY sick of it.

If he pulls it off, great. But IMHO in 5 years he'll be burned out & doing nothing of any value.

Not entirely correct. It unifies quantum mechanics with relativity.

From real life cases? I don't have any specific examples, but I can look for them in a minute... but some of the smartest people in the world spent their lives moving from one trivial job to another. I want to say that it was the person with the highest recorded IQ that was like this, I'll look.
