Every kid should strive to be more, they can still have fun in their childhood but based what I'm seeing as the typical kid these days, they're all getting dumbed down through lack of attention and mindless media. I could have been like that kid, but instead by I lived in a broken home where I was a latch key kid - I never reach even close to my fullest potential because I was never put on a pedestal. I was just ignored.

Yea seriously, with the motivation this kid's got, he AINT going to get burnt out anytime quickly. It's silly to compare him to yourself, unless you had the same drive and aspirations as he does. One of my best friends, is the smartest kids I know, but was the laziest person in the world up until he got into college. He used to play video games, sleep all day, and eat steak all the time... now he's a strict vegan, soon to become fruititarian (true consumption w/o killing), as well as a straight A college student with a full scholarship. He reads advanced physics and spirituality books in his free time and plans on developing an aura machine (no joke)

I swear, it's absolutely unbelievable how much motivation he has. He wants to change the world, and it's non-stop work for him until he can reach that point, but he seems to manage just fine. He says that the things he once enjoyed are now just a distraction, rather than a source for any true happiness which he now finds within himself

Yea, I know, sounds like a bunch of junk to you probably, but I can honestly say, he's the biggest influence in my life (for the better) as well as the person I respect most. I've only gotten a small taste of what he describes when speaking of spiritual enlightment, and it's helped get me towards the right path...

History dictates that child prodigies don't last long.

Just because he's exceptionally smart now doesn't mean he's going to get all that much smarter. He's probably currently in line with an MIT Ph. D student or something, and when he reaches that age he'll just be as normal as anyone else.
 
No problem Sega. It's nice to see somebody who can say they made a mistake. Too bad you can't inspire CADdy. If you owe me one, find a new sig. You took the most extreme example of a counter to a horribly wrong policy, an argument I despise having to make on a subject I hate to argue and display it without context. It would sort of be like me having a sig that reads something like "Sega kills women in back alleys with coat hangers." But it's up to you. 😀
 
I wonder how good of a criminal he would make....cuz if normal folk can get away with murder...I bet he could hit the history books by age 30.
 
He has poor reasoning skills. Fictional stories based on historical characters can be in the fiction section without the character being fake. Humans don't have all flat teeth. He thinks God exists. He thinks he can save the world. The kid's got a lot of learning to do.

As smart as he is, he's still got a lot of growing to do ... physically and mentally.

That was the dumbest part of the entire article and makes me want to denounce it all. If the kid had a lick of sense he would have realized we have a combination of flat teeth (molars) and pointy teeth (canines). We are what one would call omnivores because we have teeth adapted to eat both meat and plant material. This kid impresses me in some ways and doesn't in other ways. Sounds like he is trying to act beyond his means and will probably get burnt out and become a druggie 😛

Did you guys missed the point where he deduced this when he was 2 years old? He probably just kept being a vegetarian because he's been so use to it.

i wouldn't say that's true. i did the child college thing, and after 4 years, i'm not sick of it at all. i know tons of other kids that would say the same thing. a lot of them are going on to grad school... for some reason a lot of them end up going to ucberkeley. shrug. this one kid i know... he's 16 or 17, just graduated with degrees in CS and math... making a ton of money at MS now. no signs of burning out.
