Sideshow Bob, Rabbi Krusty, Bart, Marge, Lisa, and Princess Penelope. I believe that is the list.

At least, those are the characters whose voice actor has won an Emmy and they don't voice any other characters on the show.

Gotta be sideshow bob from that list if it's significant but not iconic...although I would argue that sideshow bob is pretty iconic.

Rabbi Krusty WTF. I am going to have to catch up on the last 13 seasons or so

My guess is that they kill off Krusty, btw.
 
Kent Brockman or Artie the new copter guy. Comic book guy is close to a heart attack, Mr. Burns is probably technically already dead. Grandpa Simpson could also go. Maybe Lenny finally kills Carl or Moe finally ends his miserable existence.
 
I think it's the crazy cat lady. They just added her to Tapped Out, so now would be a good time to knock her off. She can die on the show, but live on in the game.

No way is it going to be a Simpson, and Rabbi Krustofski and Princess Penelope are really minor characters. I'm going to go with Sideshow Bob.
 
Sideshow Bob would make sense. Mr Burns as well. Both are villains, but can be replaced. I could see Mr Burns having a vault full of clones.

I'm still guessing Moe.

edit: oh wait! maybe Barney.
 
They could also cheat and do another one of those "future" episodes and kill off someone like Homer without any real repercussions. I think they've done two "future" episodes in the past couple of seasons set in the same timeline. In the last one, they killed Homer a couple thousand times, which was actually sort of funny by recent Simpsons standards. It was very Futurama-esque.
 
Tonight's the night. Who's it going to be?

Promo photo went out showing the Simpsons standing over a grave with Sideshow Mel. All the men are wearing yarmulke. We know it's a Krusty episode, and it's titled Clown in the Dumps, which suggests he's upset about something.

I'm going to go with the prevailing internet theory that it's Rabbi Krustofski, and not Krusty himself.

1. Jackie Mason won an Emmy for the role
2. Krusty's death has already been done
3. Simpsons writers don't seem brave enough to kill off an important secondary character

David Hyde Pierce is a confirmed guess star, which makes Sideshow Bob a possibility, but that may be a red herring. Bob also isn't Jewish. That's assuming the promo photo isn't a red herring itself, as Krusty is missing.

I have a feeling it's gonna be Krusty.

If they are doing it as a publicity stunt, it needs to be someone big.
