Shawshank Redemption was like, hope personified. An amazing movie, which makes me wonder why I don't own a DVD of it. I think I will check online and buy a DVD of it. I've watched a lot of movies, very few do I hold to the level of Shawshank Redemption.
 
Definitely on e of the few movies I never get tired of seeing over and over again. Will have to buy the DVD too, Wally World has it for 13 but I'm a cheap bastid and am waiting for them to drop it even lower.

PULP FICTION BEAT OUT SHAWSHANK?!?!?! That's insane! PF is an ok movie, maybe even good. Shawshank is awesome. That's unbelievable.

Pulp Fiction didn't beat out Shawshank Redemption -- Forrest Gump beat both of them. Shawshank Redemption was a wonderful movie, and I enjoyed it more than Forrest Gump, but Forrest Gump certainly was more deserving of an Oscar.

Yep,
Pulp Fiction did win for Best Original ScreenPlay while Shawshank was shut out by Forrest Gump in Best Pics and Best Adapted Screenplay.
I enjoyed Forrest Gump and Shawshank but I feel Shawshank is the best drama I have ever seen.
pain, betrayal, brutuality, failure, hope, trumphiant and ultimately, redemption.

My 2nd favorite movie. I watch it all of the time. I just wish I had the Special Edition...
