Glen: tie your friend to a couch and force him to watch this movie. It's destined for "classic" status in the years to come. I get sucked into the damn thing every time they replay it on USA network and I happen to flip to the channel......and I'm a freaking movie snob fer cryin' out loud!

PULP FICTION BEAT OUT SHAWSHANK?!?!?! That's insane! PF is an ok movie, maybe even good. Shawshank is awesome. That's unbelievable.

Great movie too. The cool thing is, both Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me came from the same book, "Different Seasons." Cool that one book can have two short stories produce two classic movies. I'd actually like to see them make a movies out of the other two stories from that book, especially "The Breathing Method."

Pulp Fiction and Shawshank are both great movies IMO...but they can't really be compared. It's like trying to compare Lord of the Rings with My Big Fat Greek Wedding. ;)

Sure they can, it is called preference, if you only have $7.00 and can only see one, the BEST one would be the one that got your $7.00. :D

One of the best damn movies of all time. It has drama, action, humanity, smarts, passion, despair and hope all tied in with SUPURB actors. Damn fine film.

"The Shawshank Redemption" was an amazing movie. It and "Mission to Mars" are the only two Timothy Robbins movies I really like.

<-------------- Has yet to see The Shawshank Redemption. I've got a tiny bit of it when it plays on TV, but I rather see it on DVD. Just not enough time
