Needs more Peter Gabriel and Paula Cole
(shakes cane, lawn, etc.)
This is probably the 1st MMO that I'm seriously pumped up for. It is most definitely NOT a WoW-clone, and the setting is very intriguing to me.
Supposed to launch in April, still waiting on the next beta phase.
PvP gameplay starts at 10:00 minute mark:

Warzones? Any idea about regular world PvP?
Did he have a PC 'game' out way back when?
There will be 3 battlefields, and 1 "warzone". The warzone is a large persistent open pvp area (persistent meaning that it doesn't reset, the faction controlling it opens up buffs/items for the entire faction, no timers/time limit, and it is not instanced).
There will be no specific PvP gear, nor will there be any PvP specific resllience or anything like that. I'm hoping this means that the battlefield will literally be mini-games, and not some kind of gear grind that takes away from the open pvp zone.
EDIT: Since the warzone is persistent, there will also be up to the factions to bring the numbers. That means if the Illuminati control it with 50 people, and the Dragon only have 10, then the Templars can help out the Dragon with numbers and bring 50 members or so (or turn on them at the objective).
EDIT 2: Sorry, to be specific in answering your question, there will be no open PvP outside of the warzone area and battlefields. There will be only 1 server type, not separated PvE and PvP servers.
I'm with Ark....has promise but game play oh man. I predict WOW meets the Sims.
This game does look promising.
^ this....i signed up for info way back when..maybe because of this thread? No idea. Anyway, I keep getting updates, and I couldn't care less about this game.
GW2 is coming out this year, so....

It will be server vs server, so there will be NO pve servers (as I understand it).I seem to recall GW2 will be lacking in PvP...anyone know for sure if it will have PvP servers?

GW2 looks to be intirely pvp focused, or atleast more so than pve. Lacking in pvp? not really.
About "SW-TOR" though... I heard pvp is a mess in that game
Balanceing is out of wack, and they had some bugs that made 1 faction beat the crap out of the other with ease
(and got godly pvp gears fast, so other faction has it really tough atm).
Also the engine the game world is in, struggles when many people gather for pvp, so ontop of all that its a lag fest.
