I've found that a good percentage of buyers on Craigslist are complete morons, incapable of writing an email longer than five words. My favorite is when they lowball but make it a point to mention that they have the cash in hand, like that's supposed to impress me. Did you think I was going to accept food stamps from other buyers?

LOL. Especially since it means nothing. I have a million dollars cash on hand. See, I typed that right out.

I bought a new 2.5" Seagate 500 GB on ebay last night for 60 bucks.... (SATA laptop)

Nice!

But how does it relate to OP? Lol :p
Relevant because it's a more expensive drive with the same capacity for far less than what was being asked.

Fry's was regularly putting Hitachi brand notebook HDDs on sale for $60-$65 2 years ago. One week it would be 7200RPM, the next it would be, 5400RPM, the next would be 7200RPM with drop sensor.

There are 3 types of people that sell on Craigslist:

1) The person who thinks his stuff is worth waaaay more than it is
2) The person who thinks he can scam someone into paying waaay more than his stuff is worth
3) The person that just wants to get rid of his stuff

Ignore #1 and #2 and keep an eye out for #3. You can find great deals. I bought a fantastic solid oak china hutch and large solid oak table I use for board/card games in our basement for $300. An old couple was downsizing and needed to get rid of it asap, and I happened to be the one who contacted them first. A new table that size alone would have been over $1k.

I've had good luck finding things at good prices at the end of the month. alot of people needing rent money. Picked up a 32in tv for 120 and a 42in for 250 when I needed some cheap TVs when both mine fried in a thunderstorm last year.

Also sold my 50in plasma that was fried for 200 bucks as well....the funniest thing, the person that picked it up was an electrical engineer so I expected some nerdy dude...no it was a smoking hot tall blond I was a bit confused on that one.
