The scumbags (and imbeciles) of Craigslist

Ever wish there was a "worst of Craigslist" flag to give these guys some well-earned contempt?

I was browsing the for sale ads today and I see a listing for a 500GB Western Digital HDD. The asking price? $190.

Repulsed and yet undeniably curious at the same time, I click on the ad to see just what kind of 500GB HDD sells for $190. Well, apparently it's "BNIB." When I look at the pic, I see a faded, old box for a WD Caviar. The corners of the box are rubbed and frayed. What the fuck? A brand new in box item, that looks years old.

But wait, that's not even the best part. Ohh no, just wait for this one. At the end of the ad, this d-bag has the nerve to write, "My loss your gain."

WTF. Who do these low-life, no-good assholes think they are? Do they even have a clue how stupid and repulsive they appear?

*Edit* I sent this guy a simple polite text message to see if he has any shame. It said: "$190 for 500GB? You do realize 1TB goes for $90?" It'll be interesting to see what (if anything) he has to say :(

So wait, you mean to tell me that there are people on the internets looking to take advantage of others for financial gain? NO WAY!

As always, being an educated consumer is your only protection in any marketplace.

Thanks man, that's a good point to remember. Seriously, you have to be educated or you will get duped very soon.

You should scour all the craigslist ads in each city and let the sellers like this know who is the boss.

Don't purchase shit from craigslist?

Why not? Craigslist is the absolute best way to buy and sell things. There's less risk of not getting your money or your item, there's no fees, and there's a huge audience (at least in my area)

Craigslist is nothing more than a newspaper classified ad. Remember those?

OP: I love emailing people like that and offering more than their asking. Tell them it must be special because why else would he be selling it for more than retail so it must have some magic leprechaun inside of it or something.

Nice!

But how does it relate to OP? Lol :p

His story is pretty much someone who dosen't know how much their stuff is worth. I see it all the time on ebay. If you look for a specific item on ebay within a category and sort with highest price first, you will see some ridicioully inflated prices for items.
