Just watched Cast Away again the other day

was so sad how his memory of his girlfriend kept him alive on that island for over 4 years only to survive against all odds, escape from the island only to find that she is married and has a family, and she even admits that he is the love of her life but they part ways anyway for the sake of her family

The Fox and the Hound.

My childhood died that day.

totally agree

Wow, some good ones listed...

Just finished watching The Road again; hard getting through this one...

Well, if you measure sadness in tears the last movies I cried at were, in reverse order:
Up
Marley and Me
Big Fish

So? They died together, like all old people would be lucky to do. Basically the movie tells us that they actually did end up back together, had a great big family, and loved each other up until they were too old to actually remember it.

That's a pretty happy story.

thanks asshole, i haven't seen the movie. learn to spoiler tag.

saddest movie ive seen? good question.....i am not a bitch so I don't watch sad movies. lost in translation was probably the closest thing to a sad ending I can honestly remember.

Cowboy Bebop had a sad ending, only because it was only 24 episodes long =[
