I wonder if the monarchy will be sent a bill for $10 billion. Oh wait, the people will just be asked to live in more austerity while the royals will celebrate the ingrained peasant culture.

Yeah, I just saw some random interviews of British people on the streets of London and they're freaking out. One of them was even talking about how the royal inbred is marrying a 'commoner.' Really? A commoner? I mean, I realize that the UK is becoming more and more irrelevant every day, but at least have enough self esteem to get past the whole peasant-commoner crap.

I find it all quaint and amusing.

The reality is the "royals" wield no power. The PM would just tell her to get fucked if she tried to influence anything of importance. The people are hardly "peasants".

That's nice, but the Queen Hag actually does have special powers and privileges that the peasants can never possess. Hell, look at this ridiculous wedding that the peasants who must live in austere times have to pay for while these ridiculous inbreds still enjoy ridiculous privileges just because of their bloodline.

Maybe the PM should just tell her to get fucked anyways. I wonder how she would take it. Has a peasant ever stood up to her or members of her family?

As for the wedding, I'm ashamed such a thing exists and is so popular (at least here in Canada). How Canadians can support such a display of elitism is beyond me. Just look at the difference between Obama and the Royal Family (as heads of state). Who would you rather have as the leader of your country? Who has actually had to face challenges in their lives?
 
All I can say after an endless building up of hype about the royal wedding, is that I will only get happier when the whole damn thing is over.

With any luck I will sleep through the event, but even then we will have to endure endless replays, before it finally fades from world news.

Wow, what kind of bizarre crap is this? The peasant caste system should be obliterated along with all other caste systems.

Maybe if the British free themselves of their peasant caste system then they could be a good example for many Indians such as yourself to abandon the caste system.

No. Nobody is making you watch them. I did sleep through it. I wish I'd DVRed it, TBH. I am not one to follow the royal family. I always ignore that coverage, but seeing that wedding as broadcast on US networks would be something I'd give a chance. Well, I'll get a chance to check out recaps.

You are in the minority. Polls say 30% of the Brits are on your side while 70% are in favor or the tradition of the royal family. Myself, I've always completely ignored the coverage, that is until this week. I've watched the segments on network news on the impending wedding with some interest. 🙂 They are an attractive couple and what I've seen does not repel me. Prince Charles and Diana I never had any interest in, never.
