I'm thinking at first our ancestors started eating bone marrow and brains by cracking open the bones and skulls of the kills they found, then later begin eating meat(flesh) once they discovered that sharp rocks could cut meat into chewable little bits.

So maybe the use of simple stone tools and the extra calories from fat is what at first put us on the road to becoming Human? Then later on meat eating and cooking?
