Well, for those of you who know about yesterday, my cat Peanut got into some really powerful catnip or something attached to the catnip that caused him to wig out and get stoned. Well, I've picked him up from the vet and he seems to be doing ok. However, now when he gets up and starts doing something, it's like watching a computer with a case of periodic lag. He'll move about 20 feet, then suddenly stop and stand stiff as a board in mid stride or mid motion like someone hit pause, he'll stay like that for about 20 seconds, then move again and be fine for about 20 minutes, then do it all over again. It's just too weird. But at least he's feeling better...I think.
And yes, the vet knows about it but says that I shouldn't worry about it. *shrug*
A few months back I came into the bathroom and found him sitting in the bathtub about shoulder deep in warm water enjoying the fresh bath I had just drawn obviously totally oblivious of the fact that he's sitting in water. The bath tub is the kind with the built in jacousi (sp?) jets and those were running at the time. So the summary of the story is my cat was sitting in my jacousi tub enjoying the bubbling water. hehe.![]()
WTH are you talking about? Catnip doesn't cause brain damage. Its just a plant that attracts cats because it simulates a feline sex attractant. It is not poisonous either, it is edible and even people use it for various things like teas and such.Originally posted by: Spamela

that stuff causes brain damage. of course with a cat it's hard to tell.
our cat takes showers with mrs. spamela. plus, he prefers sleeping on newspapers,
even if they're on the floor.

My cat used to do this thing where she would be acting perfectly normal and then all the sudden tense up like someone was after her or something. She would stop, tense up, and then just take off like a rocket, usually flying up or down the stairs.
I want to have a kitty again....

One night we were watching a movie and our cat caught a mouse. She had never done anything like this before. She was just standing there with the mouse hanging out of her mouse staring at us like "WTF do I do now?" Nice to know our fat lazy cat hasn't lost her wild instincts.

It seems like all cats do weird things. My cat has a weird fascination with plastic bags. If she sees one she goes up to it and starts licking it crazily purring happily. And she likes to take naps on them. Does anyone else's cat enjoy licking plastic bags?
