Its a mistake to give it low bandwidth DDR3 when consoles have such a long lifespan, it will cripple developers a few years down the road when they have to cater to the lowest common denominator. Here, both consoles have a great opportunity to set the bar as high as possible. MS failed.
We already see current A series APU are bandwidth starved, and the APUs in the xbox is heaps more powerful. Relying on a small amount of esram to offload just adds a layer of complexity that's not a better solution than going with all GDDR5. Not to mention, what happens when developers want to make more complex games, that the 32mb is unable to fully cache? Well, performance would tank hard.. so no developer would do that.. thus, MS is limiting future growth in gaming quality.
