If only the media heeded that same lesson in 2016.

Well the media benefits from engaging with Trump. They get clicks and eyeballs and make more money. It’s bad for America, but pretty obviously good for them.

Please. Trump threw down the gauntlet when he labeled the media the enemy of the people & he's pounded home that message ever since. The Fourth Estate isn't buying it for a minute. Well, other than Fox & the usual mouthpieces of the GOP.

uhhhh, since when?
Since forever?

Does basketball give a fuck what color you are? They will import a guy from China as long as he is 6'10" and pay him buckets.

No one gives a shit about your color as long as you fucking play well. Money investment is kinda hard to be racist.... Let's see, you can either invest in this talented individual, or decline based on being racist and lose revenue from sucking. Which one do you think the owner will choose?

lulz.

I mean...it's like you don't even pay attention to anything.

since forever, really? I think you should have a chat with Hank Aaron, at least. He's still alive, anyway.

And Lebron. That guy...I mean, he isn't even allowed to "speak out of turn!"
Dude has been officially commanded to "shut up and play!"

Remember Jackie Robinson? Yep, totally fucking accepted from the start. Ali? Yep, totally accepted. Abdul Jabar? Totally cool when he changed his name. No one cared. Just, go out and play son, I won't say anything about changing your christian name to a muslim one, because only sports matter. OH hey...remember when that dude really pissed-off Hitler? Jesse Owens, was it? Yeah...great American hero that guy. Pissed off Hitler, but returned home and basically had to make a living racing against horses and such in circus acts...because he was totally a normal human.

I mean, there's this entire fucking history of black athletes being told to shut up and play. "Entertain me, negro, ENTERTAIN ME!" I guess that's the world you envy?

Oh hey, remember that Kaepernick guy? Yeah...no one gave a shit about the nonsense military propaganda until the black man with an afro peacefully sat down, and then kneeled. I mean, damn. How offensive! It's like suddenly we cared about a thing that we never cared about! How dare that guy just not shut up and play!

yeah, seriously though: fuck off with your playground naivete. It's fucking tiresome.

Sports have always been politically. Always. They are at the center of our tribal identy which, if that doesn't involve race, then nothing does. This has been going on long before even your granddad misfired and landed a cumshot on his fair lady's rosen bottom, just prior to figuring it all out and getting the aim straight, and eventually creating dear mommy.

So I just saw AOC on meet the press unfortunately I didn't catch the whole thing.

But what I did see...damn! So not only did she not dance around the questions but she was able to articulate her answers in a clear way that made sense. It's no wonder Republicans are so scared of her. She has the skill of bill Clinton in terms of politicking and the vision of Bernie sanders and the smarts of Elizabeth Warren and Hillary Clinton.

I get the hype now.

Remember AOC volunteered for the Bernie campaign and ran on the Justice Democratic platform very left of centrist considerations.

think about it.

I'm going to agree with you for the second time this month (I may have suffered a stroke). Trump is the best thing that ever happened for the news media, and probably social media as well. He's hurricane Katrina without the dead people, Desert Storm done with paint balls. Enormous controversy without loss of life. Trump may have single handedly saved Americana media (I don't really believe that, I just threw it in to preserve the bases of our relationship).

Except for the dead kids in concentration camps, right? Or do you not count them as people?

So your relationship status is "its complicated"?
That's pretty accurate. I like fskimospy, I respect his opinions and the way he presents himself, though we almost always disagree. Aside from that, everyone should have an arch enemy, I prefer to choose who I work with.

Made them money, yes. Saved them, that would depend on some definitions. I suspect that, ultimately, they'll have to answer for their crimes.

Being fair it was the day of her new green deal. She should have been talked about more.
However as we have seen earlier these guys do talk about her an awful lot.

The objective is for people to spend more time talking about her than listening to her. They can't shape the conversation when she's leading it.

I was recently at the LBJ library at UT Austin. They added a wing that is all about the history of racial discrimination in sports. Covers all the examples you mentioned and many others. It was a powerful presentation.

If things really worked the way he thinks they do, then people like Sachel Paige and Josh Gibson would have been in the major leagues from the beginning of their careers and would now be in the Hall of Fame. At the time, they were probably better than anyone in MLB.

He probably thinks that was then and we came to our senses since. No, we're coming to our senses, gradually. A long way to go still.

It's telling that sports Is the example here. Black people are today finally allowed to succeed in sports, but only because it fits the stereotype that they can be good at things which require physical prowess.

She's the new 90's Hillary Clinton and anyone can see how the right is doing everything they can to dimish her just like they've done to Hillary for decades.

It will be another one of their self fulfilling prophecies come true.

Did anyone see this racist video from Roseanne Barr?
Roseanne Barr slams U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her politics and her looks.
https://news.yahoo.com/roseanne-bar...a-ocasio-cortez-politics-looks-021935681.html

She didn't mention AOC's name but there was no issue as to who she was talking about.
Called her this:
"Barr referred to Ocasio-Cortez as a “Farrakhan-loving… bug-eyed bitch.” "

This is the true trump derangement syndrome.
