I wonder why ATI hasn't released a "GT" version of their X800 line, obviously the Pro version isn't cutting it, it is an acomplishment that it can be on par with the 6800GT but that's the thing, HL2 is about the only game that it is on par, any other game you'd definately want a 6800GT.
ATI seemed to have been doing everything right up until this round. While it is a round of relative parity, nVidia definately has the edge with how fast they've responded to challenges and making due on releases. While the pure performance crown may still be up for grabs, nVidia has struck a huge blow where ATI has dominated for such a long time, and that is price/performance. ATI just isn't agressive enough, where is a X800GT? Wheres the AGP X800XT? Certainly they should know better than to bank on the 9800 serioes keeping hold of that $200 spot. From $200-400 - a price range for your average serious gamer (reasonable too) - nVidia either has the clear advantage or ATI simply doesn't have a product available yet to compete.
