More to the thread topic, why should any American give a sh!t what people outside of our country think about our govt, our way of life, or our politics? Don't like it...then butt the hell out! I'm still not convinced we need other countries even 1/5th as much as they need us.

I don't consider electing Obama as overcoming racism. I'm sorry to inform you but the only reason he was elected was because Bush and the Repubs were just that bad. Hitler could have ran as a Dem and would've been elected.

You're kidding right? You're totally downplaying Obama's achievements. If you don't think an African-American being elected to the most powerful office in the world is a major blow to to racism, then I don't know...you're not thinking straight.

So he's African-American? Who gives a flying f**k. Speaking bluntly, he shares very little in common with the typical black person. If anything, McCain is blacker than Obama.

Hell, f**king Palin blacker than Obama.

Obama could have just as easily been white....to say this is a win for African Americans is most definitely an overstatement.

Why shouldn't we think a bit more globally? We affect the rest of this world more than any other country.

What planet are you on?

A planet that sees through Obama.

Black on the outside, white on the inside. He grew up more privileged than 99% of the people on this Earth.

What exactly makes him white on the inside? Obviously you have very preconceived notions of what it means to be black.
