Is it just me or is the entire world sucking Obama's dick right about now?

What would happen if Obama failed to deliver all of his promises? Lolz.

We're generally pretty lenient when it comes to what counts as "original comments" when links are posted to start a thread, but a comment about "sucking Obama's dick" would not seem to qualify. The troll quality of this thread doesn't help.

The entire world is ecstatic that we didn't elect McBush for a third term.

So am I.

I'm just happy America is capable of electing a black man at this point, and I think that mentality explains the linked articles - I don't really know if he will succeed as a president but I hope he will. McCain is a good man too and you won't find many people over here (those who actually follow foriegn politics anyway) who would say otherwise.

What's annoying me is the sour conservatives who seem to be everywhere today. You all could learn something from McCain who made an extremely gracious speech. I just now listed to a BBC talk radio show simulcast with an US radio show and some of the Americans were completely ridiculous - I thought P&N was the worst it gets but I was so so wrong! One guy pretty much told the BBC presenter to get out of his country, said how dare a 'socialist' comment on US politics, then went on to call the Royal Marines weak and stupid before having a rant about WWII in which Britain and America seemed to be on oposite sides... chill out guys...

I think to the world, Obama is not-Bush. that's enough to make anyone excited.

they'll come back down to reality when they realize that Obama doesn't represent a significant change from the American foreign policy of the past 20+ years.

Why are people so happy about electing a "Black" as president?

McBush wasn't running in the elections. It's tough to treat you like an adult when you act like a child.

I've been baffled by this too. Lets move forward people, not dwell on the shitty things from the past.

Because racism is a major issue in this world and America has a serious and recent history of it - to overcome this is a great achievement don't you think?

Also I don't know why you're putting quotes around "black", what do you want me to say, "African Amercan" lol? Vast majority of black people don't mind being referred to as black.

Why would you say that? I'm not upset about Obama being our next President. I voted for John McCain, but I'm not going to judge Obama until we actually see what he does.

Isn't it obvious, though? :)

McBush. McSame. The guy who voted with Bush 90% of the time. "That one".

Yes, well it's a childish gimmick. They are in the same party so I'd expect the vote to be close. I bet that you could pick two random Republicans and they probably be near a 90% agreement rate. I bet that you could pick to random Democrats and they'd near 90%.

Do you even know what those bills were? Or how many of them were the 40% in 2007 and 50% in 2006 when Obama also supported Bush?
Who is going to figure out a similar name for Obama since he has voted in-line with Dem leaders 97% of the time so far in his career?

Problem: Democrats outnumbered Republicans voters where it counted this year.

So while voting in line with Republicans hurt McCain, voting in line with Democrats didn't hurt Obama at all.

Next!

....yet.

The Dems did a great job dodging the bullet on their part in our current economic problems. How long do you think it will take before America figures out they really aren't part of the solution? How long will it take for America to realize it wasn't really just Bush at fault?
If, and its a big IF because I doubt it will go through as touted, Obama's tax plan goes into effect as layed out right now, it, coupled with his other "plans" will not help rebuild the economy. It will do more damage than good. To be fair, McCain's plan also had some damaging effects, but not nearly as much as Obama's will.
As far as change, I see no change coming. I see more supporting 97% of what Dem leaders like Pelosi want.

I don't consider electing Obama as overcoming racism. I'm sorry to inform you but the only reason he was elected was because Bush and the Repubs were just that bad. Hitler could have ran as a Dem and would've been elected.

I'm glad the vast majority of black people don't mind being referred to as black. Why must people point to the fact of his race? I don't see people highlighting any of legitimate reasons why America should've elected him.

Is it that America wasn't capable of electing a black president or is it the fact the ratio of electable black men to electable non black men is fairly low?

I don't know what big "change" Obama is going to deliver. Far as I'm concerned, the only change is going to be from a bunch of Republican crooks to a bunch of Democratic crooks.

You're kidding right? You're totally downplaying Obama's achievements. If you don't think an African-American being elected to the most powerful office in the world is a major blow to to racism, then I don't know...you're not thinking straight.

The world is going to have to take a number 'cause right now McCain/Palin are taking their turn (apparently amongst other domestic entities).
