The problem is clearly that the law capping the amount of money that corporations can give to candidates is too restrictive. It's a clear cut 1st Amendment case. Corporations are people and money is free speech.

Also, they corrected an error in the original and put a note at the bottom flat out admitting they made a mistake so the whole thing is fake news.

Edit : Also, if Trump is out 2020 he is going from one house to another.

It is pretty obvious that he committed felony violations of campaign finance laws and the only reason he isn’t currently under indictment is because he is the president.

Why shouldn't he be in prison? Because despite the left's best efforts people aren't tried and convicted on Twitter, Facebook or as result of a newspaper article. There's still that pesky constitutional right to a fair trial even for people who appear to be caught red handed.

Donald won't go to prison. Worst case scenario he will fly his plane to Russia and be given a nice Snowden-adjacent place in Moscow. Russia takes care of its foreign assets.

Oh, please. The only reason he's not under indictment is because he's the President. The DoJ doesn't indict Presidents. They might indict an ex-President, however, particularly if Congress removed them from office.

I do love the way Trump supporters have shifted from claims of actual innocence to the need for a fair trial. That would obviously be necessary in a court of Law where Blackstone's formulation necessarily applies but Congress needs to hold any President to a higher standard for the good of the Country.

I don't want him in Prison. I just want him out of Office because he's manifestly unfit to serve. Even if the Special Counsel investigation convinces Congress to remove him from office Pence will pardon him anyway. Which would be fine by me. Trump could go to brood atop his tower & try to defend himself against State & international efforts to destroy his crooked empire.

What part of the word "shouldn't" doesn't allow for the possibility of a fair trial? Wouldn't this determination of whether Trump should or shouldn't be in prison require a fair trail?

But I have to know, when you were at that Trump rally chanting "Lock her up! lock her up!" where was your concern for the Constitutional right to a fair trial then? Where was this concern for "the right's" best efforts to try and convict people via bullshit conspiracy theories? Why weren't you this concerned when those best efforts to convict someone without trial were lead by the President himself?

The question was asked and the question was answered. It's pretty clear the op thinks he's seen enough "evidence" and the President should already be in jail.

He's just determined to make it about Fski's question about why Trump isn't in jail already rather than the merits of the charges that might put him there eventually.

Hard to say. It'll blunt the Trump/GOP agenda, for sure. I think Trump's fate hinges on the Special Counsel investigation. I'm sure it's not just the Dems contemplating what to do should that turn badly against Trump.

So it's a sudden surprise that the first President in US history to refuse to divest himself of his business interests prior to taking office is corrupt? Obviously not. So he's going to be around for a lot longer still. Hopefully long enough that even Republicans wish he was gone.

I have been highly encouraged in the last few days by Trump's demands that the Presidency be shown respect. It's a sure sign he intends to vacate that office to demonstrate follow through.
