His glove was directly below that dude's hand... he most definately would have caught it.

poor guy, it was dusty bakers loss. He left Prior in and did not even have any pitchers warming up while Prior was up over a 100 pitches and getting slammed.

He should auction the ball. I bet he could make some serious green on that.

Buy the "ball that ended it all."

I don't know about that one. Look at everyone else in the picture, most of them are giving Alou room to get the ball. Only 2 fans were actually reaching for it according to the picture...

Still, Cubs didn't choke as much as Chokeland A's. LOL

You won't be saying that much after the Yankees win huh.

HAHA...look at the expression on the face of the guy second from the left. He looks like he's about to piss his pants and cry.

I bet he regrets it, and feels bad. Especially since there are nut jobs that would beat his azz for it.

you're not allowed to reach out and grab a ball like that, so, yeah, he did do something wrong.

of course, if the cubs could turn double plays it wouldn't matter

man, steve better not try to go out to any bars in wrigleyville ever again. i personally know about a dozen people who are on the lookout for him.

my favorite part was when they showed the clip and circled him: "THIS IS THE GUY WHO MADE THE CUBS CHOKE TONIGHT"

to defend the guy, he didn't reach for anything (reaching implies the ball was still in play) or it would've been fan interference. Alou clearly reached into the stands to go after the ball so the fans are allowed to go for it although you would think they'd want their own team to catch it. It's not like that was a little wall out there either. Alou had to jump over the top of the wall to reach it so the wall is probably 7 feet high or so. The guy probably wasn't expecting Alou there but if I had those seats and a ball came to me, I know I'd be on the look out for the fielder first.

that Gonzales error was big as well but i dont think he wouldn't been able to turn two on that because it was pretty deep in the hole but definitely a force out at second. Then Prior just ran out of gas. His curve didn't break at all on that 0-2 to Pudge and his fast ball was flat on that pitch that Lee ripped.

I really hope the Cubs win tonight. I want to see a Cubs/Yankees world series

Yeah, the kid also made Prior walk Castillo, he made Gonzalez drop the ball. The kid also gave up a 0-2 hit to Pudge and he prevented Baker from having anyone warming up in the bullpen.

I want the Cubs to win the World Series but blaming the loss on him is naive. He is imaybe accountable for 1 or 2 runs MAX. Not 8.

Anyone who harasses the guy needs to get a life. The ball was close enough that the ump didn't call interference (which was a good call). Besides, the guy did not cause them to get a mere 3 hits in game 5. Nor does he have any affect on Game 7.

The bottom line is that the whole stadium had a chance to help the Cubs get out of the jam by rallying together and cheering loudly. But what do they do? The boo and chant "A$$hole." And now they post his name and info so people can harass him??!! Classy.

His arms are completely extended, so he did have to reach quite a bit. However, it was too close to call fan interferance. A more appropriate call would be "Being a dumbass and not seeing the big black guy with the uniform and the mit running towards you and jumping for the ball that he would have easily caught and probably would have allowed your team to win the game that would have put them in the World Series for the first time in almost 50 years."

Well, the guy singlehandedly ruined many thousands of fans' fun. I guess most cubs fans aren't as level headed as you.

If cubs lose tonight he'll have to move. If not people will fortunately forget him.

Anyone who's played baseball as a kid and gone to games knows you live to catch a foul ball.

I hope I would have had the presence of mind to avoid that one.
