Not sure if anyone cares, but the Chicago Sun Times released the name of the Cubs fan that went after the foul ball. His identity is also all over the internet.
Think he can sue the Sun Times for releasing that information? His life in Chicago is over. Time to enter the witness protection program before a lynch mob waits for him at home or at work (where he works and his home address were also released).

If the Cubs win tonight all will be forgotten. If they lose he's name will be as infamous in Chicago history as Mrs. O'Leary's Cow

Sad to say, his life is over.

If he has any brains at all (which I question), he would have been on the first flight to Miami last night.

Poor kid!
He did not do anything wrong. The ball was a foul, in the stands and totally fair game. He probably didn't even think about it... just grabber for it on instinct. And if he did think, it was probably..."playoff game, caught a ball!! whippee".

I bet he regrets it, and feels bad. Especially since there are nut jobs that would beat his azz for it.

He has no grounds to sue.

If he's over 18, it's not really classified information or anything.

4 WS Championships in the last 30 years. How many have the Sux or the Cubs won in the last 30 years?

a's fans aren't dumb enough to get out of the way.

at the very least, someone would start shoving him out of the way. forcefully. or you know yelling "HEY LOOK AT ALOU!"

red dawn is right. if the cubs win, he'll just be a funny little side story. if they lose, he can be blamed. his going for the ball shook up the cubbies and it showed in prior's pitching and the error by gonzales. in their mind it was 'dang it should have been two outs." that's what sets apart a team ready to win and a team guided by who knows what... luck?

anyways, topic at hand, i'd sue or get something out of the paper for releasing private information. completely uncalled for.

Yeah I don't think he's to blame. If a foul ball is coming your way, naturally your first instinct is to either run, or if you're a baseball fan, catch it. It's not like he did any acrobatics to reach it, it was going to land very close to where he was sitting. Plus he had his eyes on the ball and not Alou.

As if any of you would've cowered from the ball in fear as it was heading towards you that slowly..

bet ya he's gonna be on his hands and knee's praying to God, Allah, whoever for the Cub's to win tonight.

lol the smoking gun...
And when we dialed him up at his apartment--about three miles from Wrigley Field--we got a recorded message saying that his number had been disconnected. Which is probably not a bad idea.

I heard Alou shouting something but I couldn't hear it. He might have been telling the fans to move aside but who knows.

Still, I bet you he's already got about 20 messages on his answering machine from attorneys (assuming the machine wasn't already full of death threats . . . . . and assuming the house is still standing for the answering machine to actually be working.)
