My family isnt even PO'ed at me, my mom is really cool and already offered to advance my xmas money to build a new pc but i declined.

I wasnt expecting sympathy, i just wanted to know if i would ever see my system again.

I was thinking the same thing then the name John Walker sprang to mind.

<< Don't expect sympathy (either)...you got what you deserved. >>

I disagree.. that should have been a fine and MAYBE community service.. Getting an expensive computer taken for something like that is just ass.
I'd be pissed to hell.. I don't see that as a huge criminal act. I think computer being taken is really too much.. but that's just me.

You need a lawyer like YESTERDAY!

In looking at your system rigs page, I noticed three OS's. Do you have licences?

Did you have anything else incriminating, were you distributing Warez(burning copies for buddies is distribution)?

It would appear that getting your computer back is the least of your worries!

It's nice to see children that inderstand right from wrong!

I would LOG OFF and FIND A LAWYER!

Say you did not use the computer to make the passes (what passes!). They would have to prove that it was you that did it and that was the tool u used!
If u have saved files or anything on there that looks like it is realated to the crime that is the last u will see of it.

I have to laugh sorry. If this happened in Aus the police would laugh and enquire how much u made laugh again then walk.

Yes, if you have warez or any sort of other illicit material on your computer, then the bus passes may be the least of your worries.

dood, you need to be concerned about your ass being in jail more than about getting your rig back!

You better take her up on the money, but use it for a lawyer instead. Personally, I hope you never see your computer again, hopefully that will make up for your parents not jerking a knot in you over this.

Coming here and admitting to a crime, or even saying you are being investigated for a crime is not a bright thing to do. I doubt you'll get any helpful advice other then the normal "don't drop the soap," "you do the crime, you do the time."

Go find a lawyer. Also with you being so young, I don't think you're even looking at jail time. A slap on the wrist. But you aren't really concered about that, you're more concerned if you'll get your computer back.

Good luck buddy.

No crap! Counterfeiting gov't documents is a first degree felony punishable by a 250,000 fine and 25 years in jail! Better start stretching that butthole now to get it in shape! :Q 😉

If I were you, I'd be practicing showing some remorse, instead of sweating getting your hardware back. :Q

<< My family isnt even PO'ed at me, my mom is really cool... >>

Ha! If she was really cool, she'd be practicing baking files into pies. They'd have to be non-metalic so they didn't show up on the x-ray.

If you've formatted the drive several times the chance they could recover the data is small. The police would have to send it to a data recovery place which would cost major $$$. I seriously doubt they're gonna do that for something like this (I'm not in any way condoning what you did).

I think you ought to think about moving to a country with difficult extradition laws...

Got programs you don't own on your computer? Add a few years in jail and a few thousand for every piece of software. Same goes for any mp3's you don't own cds for.

Your under 18, if you have any porn on there you may be in trouble for that, probably the least of your worries.
However if any of that porn is of women who are under the age of the 18, none of the above means squat compared to this. You will be going to jail for many many years.

Edit: Nevermind as you apparently formatted the drive.

yes, a judge is quite unlikely to give you a break at all if you show any attitude.

Hehe lets not take things too far. Even if you have a crapload of warez on your computer AND you are over 18, as long as you didn't have some major operation going chances are that even if the cops gave enough of a damn to come to your place they'd only take computer and maybe some small record stuff. Regular joes using warez, mp3s, pirated movies, etc. for their own use never get more than a slap on the wrist.
