The PERFECT Long Island Ice Tea

Just use cheap liquors for a Long Island lol. The expensive stuff is for shooting, there is no point in putting it in a mixed drink.

we had a person at the restraunt the other day ask for a

non-alcoholic Long Island Iced Tea.

we sat there, and thought for a second and went... wtf, she wants coke and the sour mix???

Skyy vodka is horrible..... try Stoli Crystal instead. Best of the mid priced vodkas, if you want something higher you could always go for Grey Goose.

She wanted an iced tea.

Maybe she wanted a Lemon and a coke....

But does anyone have any recomendations for a better Triple Sec??

The one I had in Houston was the perfect Top-shelf LI ice tea, I wished I knew what they put in it, it cost $16.50 for each one. (i didn't pay, it was open bar on the company)

It's like going into a resturant and asking for a Virgin Jack and Coke. Usually a waiter will laugh and get it. You on the other hand........

im sure the waiter and the lady had a good laugh at these guys puzzled expressions...just so you know MIKEMIKE she was askin for an ice tea...a virgin jack and coke would be asking for a coke

I checked out webtender, but they don't give specific liquors. And that's what I am looking for.

Thanks to all

I haven't mixed one in which I couldn't drink down.

Long Island Iced Teas... AND ANY OTHER MIXED DRINK THAT TRIES TO HIDE THE TASTE OF ALCOHOL (FOR THAT MATTER) are made to be used with CHEAP liqours.

WTF are you doing putting Patron in a fvcking Long Island Iced Tea.. OMG geez..

Take a shot of that Patron by itself.. Great.. Now you've just tasted one of the best commonly available tequilas.

Open bar screams "RAPE ME"

Seriously. I could go on a vacation where the package includes an open bar - and then proceed to drink more than the package cost in a night.

CONTEXT!!!

"Rape me" is an understatement. There were 80-some interns, about 60 of them of age, and about 50 of them drank. 50 times $30 equals OMG. And the $30 is pretty conservative estimate. I know a few people who drank at least $100, most in shots. Out of 4 nights, two of them were open bar (at different bars, hotel bar the first, Fisherman's Worf the second.) and one night they gave us a our first two drinks at Dave N Busters plus catered meal plus a $20 card for the games. yay.

Last night

Patron
Bicardi 151
Grey Goose
Tanquaray
Triple Sec
Coke
Lemon slice
and sour mix (Mr and Mrs Ts)

and the second time around

El Jimadora
Bacardi Solara
Grey Goose
Tanquaray
Triple Sec
Coke
Lemon slice
and sour mix (Mr and Mrs Ts)

Both were horrible.... I couldn't even finish the first one.

And since everyone keeps telling me use well liquors....give me some names that mix well. I try anything else at this point.

Thanks

CONTEXT!!!

Okay, fine. You can have some context. My girlfriend and a few friends went to Cancun. Free drinks as part of their package at any of the resort's 11ty billion assorted bars. They only drank in the evenings, and even then, they're lightweights compared to me. The bar that they spent most of their time at actually kept a running tab for everyone, even though they didn't have to pay - and the girl put down nearly $600 of drink in 5 days - on an $800 package. The airline tickets more than made up for the rest of that, nevermind the hotel, beaches, snorkeling, and other activities that were bundled in with the price.

I have twice the capacity for alcohol that she does. Thereby, when I go with them next year (I couldn't afford it this year), I'm going to bankrupt the company.

Your first mistake is using bottled sour/sweet mix. You got to make that on your own. I would say that most of the yuck is from the non-liquor components.

Freshly sqeeze a couple lemons and limes and add to melted sugar.

BTW, Tanq. No. Ten is a tall slender octagonal green bottle. It has more citris highlights than the typical Tanq.

The biggest difference between the one you liked and the ones you are trying to make is plainly the sweet/sour mix.

Depends on the package and if it includes top-shelf stuff. Especially in Cancun, the swill they use is less than $5 a handle. You're not bankrupting anybody.

Yeah, I know, there's a ridiculous disparity between what it costs and what they sell for. But when you're off in drunkland, big numbers make you feel like a god.

Thanks, I willing to bet that what it is. But I haven't been able to find Tanqeuary NO. 10 at any of the liqour stores around here. They know what it is, but just don' t carry it.

Grey Goose and petron are way overkill

some decent non bottom of the barrel booze

Sauza silver tequila
Smirnoff vodka
ronrico silver label rum
gilbey's or beefeater gin
any cheapo triple sec
