There's a place 'round these parts that makes pancakes about 14" diameter and about 3/4" thick......(no bull!!!).

They also have pretty good omelettes, biscuits & gravy, etc. etc.

I used to be able to eat almost 2 of those pancakes, but as I get older, I'm down to about 1.

Still good though.....& worth every bit of shortened life!!!! 😉

No... I mean there's a difference between complex and simple carbohydrates, but one way or another your blood sugar is going up from eating that rice, thus there will be insulin released.

I can't eat any of that crap since I started Weight Watchers. 🙁

I'm allowed 31 "points" per day. For breakfast, I sometimes have a cup of fruit (3 points), and some Egg Beaters brand scrambled eggs (3 points). I think one of those fully loaded omeletes would be about 20 points. Hashbrowns would be 10+ points. Anything besides water for a drink has points, so you quickly learn that using your daily points in anything but water is a waste. You'd much rather put them into actual food.



Soda-free for 2 weeks! (after seemingly a lifetime of at least 1 a day) A typical 20 oz. soda has 5 points.

I'm afraid it is you who are way off dude. Read slowly.... ALL CARBOHYDRATES ARE BROKEN DOWN INTO SUGAR IN THE DIGESTIVE PROCESS. Insulin is always released, the only difference is how much insulin is released. An "insulin spike" is a sharp rise in the level of insulin released by the pancreas. Your body treats a banana not much differently then it treats a piece of candy: it's broken down into sugars. The banana obviously being more nutritious. The candy containing more "simple sugars" thus a sharper rise in released insulin, but all in all, they are both sugars. Also, chinese food is typically prepared with white rice. White rice is processed rice which has been bleached, thus removing much of it's nutritional content. If that's your idea of a "perfect breakfast" I'd hate too see how your body looks after a few years.
