The Rain/Smog will hide the poor texture models of the vast number of NPCs they'll try and cram into this next game. So at least that's kind of a plus?

Ubisoft just has a very poor attitude when it comes to production. The large numbers of NPCs is certainly good for the evolution of gameplay. After this I want more advanced AI and customization of NPCs and emergent gameplay. The Shadow of Mordor is one of the few AAA games recently that I have had much interest in playing so I am waiting for it to go on sale for under $15 or something.

Cyberpunk 2077, if it comes out in 2015, is the biggest draw to me.

There were plenty of others, but I'll be waiting for sales and all that. I have enough of a backlog that purchasing new doesn't make a lot of sense.

Batman Arkham Knight is beyond comparison for me. And if Mirror's Edge will come in 2015(very unlikely), it will be my number 2. The rest are unimportant.

Stuff I'm looking forward to:

Just Cause 3 absolutely has my attention (JC2 is the best open-world action game I've ever played), and probably Mad Max (made by the same devs).

Killing Floor 2 will be a day-1 purchase for me. Say what you want about Tripwire, but they are some of the biggest, most dedicated PC game devs I know of, and their attention to detail in weaponry and gunplay makes Killing Floor and Red Orchestra two of the best FPS titles I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

SUPERHOT is an indie FPS with a very interesting twist; like a mix of a shooter and a game of chess. I look forward to playing the full version.

I have high expectations for The Witcher 3. Not much else to say about that one that hasn't already been said.

The new Hitman game is also very exciting, especially if it's as faithful to the older versions as IO claims it is. Also I think the people at IO Interactive are masters of audio and visual design. The previous Hitman game was beautiful.

I am interested in Hatred. Beyond the attention-whoring theme of the game, it also looks like it actually has some interesting mechanics for an isometric shooter, as well as destructable environments and some other surprises that the devs have been hush about.

Frictional Games are probably my favorite indie studio - let alone my favorite horror developer. It's not often that great horror titles come along, which is why I'm so excited for SOMA.

I'm (admittedly) excited to play the "Resident Evil 1, remake, HD remaster, now on PC" for the 5th time. I'm also excited for Resident Evil Revelations 2, as I quite enjoyed the first Revelations.

Also excited for the Pathologic remake, although I don't think that one will come out until 2016.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 was a great casual driving sim, which is why I'm excited for American Truck Simulator.

Next Car Game: Wreckfest and Distance are two of my most-anticipated racing games.

Homefront: The Revolution - VERY cautiously optimistic about this one, and I use "looking forward to" loosely as in I'm not necessarily looking forward to playing it, but I'm only looking forward to seeing if it's actually any good. I would love to see a good modern-day FPS game with North Korea as the subject matter. (I understand the sequel is being made by a different dev than the first.)

Stuff I'm not looking forward to:

Star Citizen is one of the most ridiculously-overhyped video games I have ever seen in my life and I look forward to enjoying all of the online anger and butthurt when it actually comes out and doesn't meet people's expectations.

No Man's Sky is overhyped too. Maybe not as much as Star Citizen; but it's a vague, over-ambitious indie project that will almost certainly fail to deliver on people's expectations IMO.

Life is Feudal is a good concept, but it's in such an early stage of development that I won't cross my fingers for anything.

Evolve looks like the kind of multiplayer online game that I should be excited about, but I'm just not. I'm not sure why. I guess it's because I already have so many good multiplayer shooters to occupy my time, I'm skeptical that anything else will be able to distract me.

H1Z1, DayZ... ugh. I'm so done with the whole open-world zombie thing.

Triad Wars is a tragic waste of time, as far as I can tell. I would love to see United Front make a proper sequel to Sleeping Dogs.

Cyberpunk 2077, if it comes out in 2015, is the biggest draw to me.

There were plenty of others, but I'll be waiting for sales and all that. I have enough of a backlog that purchasing new doesn't make a lot of sense.

Cyberpunk 2077 is most certainly not coming out in 2015. Most likely not 2016 either. If I had to guess, we're looking at a 2017 release for that game at the very earliest.

Tom Clancy's The Division probably won't be releasing until 2016 as well. Ubisoft has stated that a 2015 release is unlikely.

GalCiv3 and Battlfront are the only ones I'm currently looking forward to.

It seems like there are a LOT of space games coming out. Is there anyone that has a feel for all of them that could categorize them as to what they offer?

For example, I might not really care too much about one that's mostly a space dogfighting game, but if it's got capital ships and multicrewing it's got my attention.

Perhaps a dedicated space game thread is in order!

I also think 2015 is way too optimistic, but it was on the list.

I might be Arkham'd out. Most anything else I would be interested in on that list will be a complete edition 75%+ sale purchase.

2015 will see me finally playing Shadows of Mordor and maybe FC4. Cyberpunk, though. I'll probably get that day one if it pulls off a quality on par with that teaser trailer.

Looking forward mainly to Pillars of Eternity and Tides. Also on the horizon is a little known title called Enemy Starfighter. Also hoping for possible official release of Oculus Rift. Oh yeah and not to forget the Homeworld remastered edition.

While AC Unity was a poorly released product, it was HIGHLY ambitious. So I don't know if I can fault Ubisoft on that level. I mean how many AAA devs try and push out a game in which the minimum specs are A GTX 680/HD7970? They went balls to the wall on pushing graphics on that game.

Did they fail on delivery? Yes, but it was pretty cool that they tried.

Honestly, if AC Unity wasn't published by Ubisoft, and was delayed 6 months or had delays like The Witcher 3 (Where they won't release it until it's a finished product), we would probably be applauding Unity as the best title Ubisoft has published in a long time.

I'm hoping that a triple A game like that pushed people to purchase new PCs and move us into an era where games are focusing more on current/relevant hardware rather than ensuring it runs on Core2Duo.

I may take a dump on Unity, but it was a pretty cool concept, just poorly executed by a publisher who knows their market (Gamers who pretty much purchase anything and can't help themselves. Followed the game on Gaf/Reddit and people were posting in threads with people having MASSIVE issues saying that they knew of the issues but bought it anyway because... just screw it, gotta have Assassin's Creed no matter what!)

Can't wait for this statement to come true. It's extremely overhyped and gamers LOVE to buy into the hype train.

Can't wait for it to blow up in their faces like a beautiful facial.

I would rather it turn out to be incredible and serve as a huge middle finger to AAA publishers who don't believe PC gamers are worth targeting.

Don't understand all the animosity towards folks who are optimistic about this game.

I don't care about the game, but I also would like it to be really great, and that people that are hyped get their expectations fulfilled. It's a different game, not another Call of Duty 3929 or Assassins Creed 100 or Grand Theft Auto 28, so it'd be great if it succeeds.

For sure buys at release, barring terrible reviews/problems:
Grand Theft Auto 5
Batman: Arkham Knight
Just Cause 3
The Witcher 3

Lot of other stuff looks good, but not $40+ good. Will wait for reduced prices on a lot of games. Anything Ubisoft, will wait for $10 or less and months of patches.

Looks a lot better than 2014 though. Barely bought anything last year.

Oh, and I hope Oculus comes out this year! Then will buy more racing games.

This!!!!

Also will be an amazing fit for Star Citizen too...

Batman and Just Cause 3

I don't play nearly as much as I used to, but these 3rd person action (and specifically open world) games are really the only things I enjoy enough to see through to completion anymore.

Nothing against people who like the game.

I just expect it to flop after being hyped for this long

There aren't really any major games I'm interested in but Jotun looks like something I'd enjoy and I'll probably play SW:BF assuming my friends pick it up. More Deus Ex sounds good, Killing Floor 2 I'll play, and Darkest Dungeon looks kind of neat.

I really, really hope that it comes out and it awesome beyond anyone's wildest expectations. I hope that it is the killer app that springs Oculus into mainstream gaming, because we really need a full game that shows that it can be more than a gimmick. I really hope that it brings Wing Commander type space games back.

But, I also think that it has been hyped beyond the ability for anything to meet expectations. I think that even if it is a damn good game it is going to disappoint enough people that it is going to be proclaimed a failure, and that the butthurt screams of the internet feeling betrayed by their own unattainable expectations will sink it.

Then I'm going to get it for like 3 dollars on a steam sale and enjoy the hell out of it for years along with a small, but dedicated, community that will keep it alive with mods and community patches.

Because it's a game not coming from a major studio, it will be judged on how good it is rather than just being given a good review score.
In fact, it may even be judged more critically due to the hype but getting real reviews.

I don't think it'll be considered good no matter how good it actually is. I think Oculus, while being interesting for it, will not be the "killer app". I think it'll be too motion sickness inducing for people to go "Wow this is amazing!"

I mean, if you're out in space doing a barrel roll, that'll be cool to enthusiasts, but may not be cool to the people Oculus needs to impress (the masses).
