Stuff I'm looking forward to:
Just Cause 3 absolutely has my attention (JC2 is the best open-world action game I've ever played), and probably Mad Max (made by the same devs).
Killing Floor 2 will be a day-1 purchase for me. Say what you want about Tripwire, but they are some of the biggest, most dedicated PC game devs I know of, and their attention to detail in weaponry and gunplay makes Killing Floor and Red Orchestra two of the best FPS titles I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
SUPERHOT is an indie FPS with a very interesting twist; like a mix of a shooter and a game of chess. I look forward to playing the full version.
I have high expectations for The Witcher 3. Not much else to say about that one that hasn't already been said.
The new Hitman game is also very exciting, especially if it's as faithful to the older versions as IO claims it is. Also I think the people at IO Interactive are masters of audio and visual design. The previous Hitman game was beautiful.
I am interested in Hatred. Beyond the attention-whoring theme of the game, it also looks like it actually has some interesting mechanics for an isometric shooter, as well as destructable environments and some other surprises that the devs have been hush about.
Frictional Games are probably my favorite indie studio - let alone my favorite horror developer. It's not often that great horror titles come along, which is why I'm so excited for SOMA.
I'm (admittedly) excited to play the "Resident Evil 1, remake, HD remaster, now on PC" for the 5th time. I'm also excited for Resident Evil Revelations 2, as I quite enjoyed the first Revelations.
Also excited for the Pathologic remake, although I don't think that one will come out until 2016.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 was a great casual driving sim, which is why I'm excited for American Truck Simulator.
Next Car Game: Wreckfest and Distance are two of my most-anticipated racing games.
Homefront: The Revolution - VERY cautiously optimistic about this one, and I use "looking forward to" loosely as in I'm not necessarily looking forward to playing it, but I'm only looking forward to seeing if it's actually any good. I would love to see a good modern-day FPS game with North Korea as the subject matter. (I understand the sequel is being made by a different dev than the first.)
Stuff I'm not looking forward to:
Star Citizen is one of the most ridiculously-overhyped video games I have ever seen in my life and I look forward to enjoying all of the online anger and butthurt when it actually comes out and doesn't meet people's expectations.
No Man's Sky is overhyped too. Maybe not as much as Star Citizen; but it's a vague, over-ambitious indie project that will almost certainly fail to deliver on people's expectations IMO.
Life is Feudal is a good concept, but it's in such an early stage of development that I won't cross my fingers for anything.
Evolve looks like the kind of multiplayer online game that I should be excited about, but I'm just not. I'm not sure why. I guess it's because I already have so many good multiplayer shooters to occupy my time, I'm skeptical that anything else will be able to distract me.
H1Z1, DayZ... ugh. I'm so done with the whole open-world zombie thing.
Triad Wars is a tragic waste of time, as far as I can tell. I would love to see United Front make a proper sequel to Sleeping Dogs.
Cyberpunk 2077, if it comes out in 2015, is the biggest draw to me.
There were plenty of others, but I'll be waiting for sales and all that. I have enough of a backlog that purchasing new doesn't make a lot of sense.
Cyberpunk 2077 is most certainly not coming out in 2015. Most likely not 2016 either. If I had to guess, we're looking at a 2017 release for that game at the very earliest.
Tom Clancy's The Division probably won't be releasing until 2016 as well. Ubisoft has stated that a 2015 release is unlikely.
