I'm probably going to go to the 14th street one, or the one near 8th street.

I would, but im scared of spoilers, and amazon will get it to me that day.

I have my Fedex job from 3AM-8AM on Saturday. Despite that, I still think I will go. This is the last release of this incredible series, and you have just as much fun waiting for the book as you do hanging out with friends during that time span.

I think Ron will die.

edit: and Harry will get some.

From Ron?

no, from Hermione, she will take her grief of Ron's death to Harry who will then take advantage of her vulnerable state. Then Voldemort will revive Ron from the ashes and he will come after Harry in a showdown over Hermione. At the last moment, before Harry vanquishes the undead Ron, Ginny steps in the way to save her brother. Thus allowing Ron the time to kill Harry.

About the locket not being shown in the movie:

I know JKR works with the filmmakers. In OotP, she requested that Kreacher be left in the movie as he was very important later on. But the thing is, what did Kreacher do in the OotP movie. In the book, it was notable to have him because of the locket. They were throwing stuff out and Kreacher saved it. Later, Mundungus stole everything he could on top of that. Who knows where that locket is now. The locket is definitely a horcrux and is definitely the one they were looking for at the end of HBP.

I imagine that in DH, it will just suddenly dawn on one of the trio that "Hey, that frickin locket is the one we are looking for!" Since it was completely left out of the 5th movie AND they don't go to Sirius' house during the 6th book, how can they possibly explain this when it happens in the 7th movie. The only explanation I can think of is that perhaps the 'ol switcher-roo that Regulus did will not happen and Dumbledore will in fact get the actual horcrux at the end of the 6th movie. But then why include Kreacher in the 5th movie if his only job in the 7th book is to advance the locket sub-plot.

Thats my main complaint about the 5th movie. It left out so much of the little plot details that will have to be re-arranged or redone in the sixth movie when they could have been covered in the fifth easy. It's just a lot of little things that build up that even some fans missed. Several people in this thread knew nothing of the locket in the 5th book. My friend, who has read the books several times also forgot about it. Maybe the the screenwriter and JKR forgot about it.

Another thing that irritated me in the 5th movie was teh lack of the handheld mirror Sirius gives Harry. It explains in the book how the order wound up at the Ministry to defend Harry. It also accounts for the whole "Sirius' death was my fault" sub-plot of Harry.

Now, following the line about JKR working with the filmmakers and people thinking Neville is important. I used to think Neville was important too. I mean, the prophecy could have applied to either of them. I think people are hyping up Neville but almost his entire backstory was left out of the 5th movie so I think that subplot is going nowhere. In fact, JKR said in a interview that although it's interesting to consider what might have been if Voldemort chose Neville, it was not important to the story line.

One more thing about JKR's involvement in the movies. I remember that Alfonso wanted to put in little people dancing on the piano in one scene basically playing the piano. JKR overruled it stating that something like that doesn't exist in her world. I was just thinking, what about the yard gnomes. I believe it's the 4th book that Harry goes to stay at the burrow and the pull yard gnomes out of their garden and fling them far away. Why could they have done the dancing on the piano? (completely off-topic but I just thought of it the other day)

Why didnt Voldemort make his Horcrux hiding locations unplottable? and guarded by something more potent?

.... Harry doesn't die? that doesn't spoil anything? After the movie tells everyone the prophecy and now we know only 1 of the 2 can live? spoiler imo.

My thoughts: Dumbledoor is not dead...he had the backup like Voldamort does.

Rowling already said Dubledore was dead for real, also in the book it says splitting your soul to stay alive like that is an incredibly evil thing to do so theres no way Dumbledore would do it. So, but Dumbledore is definitely 100% completely dead (maybe at best he will be a picture on the wall like the other headmasters). On a side note apparently this is how pretty much every fantasy book works in that the heroes mentor dies after imparting their wisdom and the hero has to defeat the bad guy on their own.

I also think he is dead. Dont forget about Dumbledore's brother, Aberforth. I think he will help harry along and reveal some background info on Albus Dumbledore that we havent heard.

I for one am sure that there is a reason Dumbledore had to die, which is why he paralyzed harry etc etc.

Similar to maybe his mother dying for him.

It's only a spoiler if you've never read Half-Blood Prince or Order of the Phoenix. If you read the mod's original post, he is talking about spoiling Deathly Hallows. You can talk about anything leading up to that. You just can't pull the BS that people like to do with Snape and Dumbledore with Half-Blood Prince for Deathly Hallows.

Gamingphreek, it is said in the books that Regulus Black became scared of what Voldemort was doing, and attempted to back out. This was a conversation between Sirius and Harry, during the section about waging war with the house at Grimmauld Place. The two of them were looking at the tapestry of the Noble House of Black.

Also, the note in the locket said that he had destroyed the locket, in the hope that one day Voldemort would meet his own death. He didn't leave it at the Black house as the random locket in Order of the Phoenix; that really was just a random locket.

Who has bets on the Horcruxes? 7 pieces...
The locket.
Nagini.
The diary.
Helga Hufflepuff's something.
Voldemort himself.
Harry?
....that's all we have so far. Maybe Rowena Ravenclaw's possessions?

The note in the locket said he intended to destroy it as soon as he could. So there is the possibility it is still around.

I personally would think that Rowling would have just put "I destroyed it" if it had really been destroyed.

I believe that whatever you have to do to get the horcrux kills you. This is why I believe Snape killed Dumbledore at the end of HBP. I believe Snape saw what Dumbledore had just done and killed him.

For this reason I don't believe Regulus had time to destroy the locket.

not a spoiler, but RELATED to them:

does anyone know if those were real, the one with 759 pages? (yes, i know its 784, but scholastic has confirmed that 784 was the number of pages BOUND, not numbered)

@bearxor, not really, they could film them wandering through grimmauld place and find the locket

My "prediction" is that Albus will come back and neither of the trio are going to die. Furthermore, Voldi will die and Sirius, although dead, will help Harry.

Malfoy will be fine as well ;)

So, is UPS making an exception and delivering on Saturday? Because Amazon, who promised to have it delivered on the 21st, just sent me an email stating they were sending mine by UPS.

I was thinking about the people who go around trying to spoil the book for everyone else. I'm talking about the people who last year went to the midnight parties and drove by yelling out spoilers to the crowd.
What kind of a lowlife do you have to be to purposely try to ruin as many people's excitement in life as possible. That is truly an evil thing to do that I will never understand.

I was thinking if there were some crazy Harry Potter fan who ended up shooting one of these lowlifes, I actually wouldn't be sad at all. Cause this is the type of person who would probably end up in jail at one point or another in life anyway.
