I was just reading about the preview program yesterday. Are they super stable? I don't want to lose my data have to redownload large games.

My step-son is totally careless with my xbox. He switches games like every 2 seconds and leaves apps open, never reboots, etc, and I've still have yet to see a preview program crash. So I think you'll be okay.

The Xbox ultimate game sale has started and will run until the 13th. There is a topic over at slick deals if you're interested.

Edit: Are any of these considered good deals or worth picking up if someone has already has a gaming pc?

IMO:

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Deluxe Edition - awesome if you have kids or are just a batman fan. Hard to pass up all that content for $14.

Far Cry 4 Gold Edition: good game if you like story mode FPS. I'm not into those, but my little bro is and he loves this game.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition: I'm a WoW player and a D3 pc player, and getting the console version changed my life. The controls are so much better than that carpal tunnel inducing clickfest on the PC. D3 is a highly underrated game with a lot of replay value, and blizzard patches it all the time. If you're into this genre at all, it's worth it. The community is healthy online and couch co-op is dope if you've got people who like to play this as well.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor: I loved this game. I rarely get into single player games these days, but I ended up playing this more than Witcher 3. it did take a while to hit it's stride, however.

I've been meaning to play Diablo 3 for a long time. I tried it briefly on PS3 and it was quite good. Can only imagine it's loads better on the newer consoles.

You know the feeling when you've finished the game you've been mainlining and you can't figure out what to play? D3 always fills that hole for me.

Yeah and I see Walmart is selling it on ps4 for $30 as well.

Anyone played it on the Xbox one and can comment on the frame rate? I read that it sometimes will slow down from 60 to 50 after the newest patches and that the ps4 holds 60 except for the save points. Just wondering if it's really noticeable or not?

I haven't played it, but I imagine the only slow downs would be when there is a ton of mobs and effects on screen. I have it on PC, so I don't experience slowdowns anymore (after they removed CM Wizards, that is, I could easily put out enough effects to slow myself down).

Everyone I know that has played on console said it is actually really good, even those guys that went from PC to console for awhile.

That's good to hear. I think I've already had two updates since being invited to the preview program. So far I haven't had any issues.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've been having a lot of trouble getting into games lately. I might check out the batman game if it is fun. The price seems good.

I'm really curious about how streaming from Windows 10 to Xbox will work? Will it be a background app on the pc, freeing up the rest of the pc's resource for other activity? Can there be multiple streaming instances? Will XB1 support mouse/kb? I think this can be pretty usefull if executed properly. Looking forward to hearing more about it.

I believe it goes the other way. From the Xbox to the PC so you don't hog up the TV. Kind of like remote play.

Yeah, they haven't said anything about going PC-to-Xbox yet. The closest thing you'll see is running the PC through the HDMI pass-through.

Yeah, you're right. Just read about it on the xbox preview thing. For some reason, I thought it was the other way around. Probably wishfull thinking, lol. On the bright side, I see some of my XBLA games from the 360 on my install list. So, I installed Super Meatboy, and Toy Soldier. Works pretty well. Just like playing on a 360. I'm hoping they bring Castle Crashers, Ikaruga, and that other treasure shooter.. forgot the name. Even harder than Ikaruga, lol

Xbox Live store is having a combo sale on both Forza 5 and Horizon 2 for $71.49 with Gold. I have a $50 gift card so I can get both games for about $22. Is it worth it or will I find both games fairly cheap in the near future? Does the bundle come with Forza 5 goty version? https://store.xbox.com/en-US/Xbox-O...5-Bundle/4aabb437-2e65-4186-ad00-ce3020f0f711

Also, the original Forza Horizon is on sale for $10 and the season pass is $5. If I buy it would it work on the One right now to keep me occupied if I don't get the above deal?

1. The Forza 5 GotY is kind of lame. It's the exact same game, but with one extra car pack, not the full content of the Season Pass.
2. It's the base Forza 5, which I once bought new for $20 through a Best Buy price match of Tiger Direct.

At this point, you could get a much better deal, especially if you buy a game physically. eBay has the base Forza 5 digital download for $18. You can then get Forza Horizon 2 for $40 new on there, or probably as low as $30 used, if you have a place like Family Video near you.

As for the first Forza Horizon, that's kind of your call. I never played it, but it's supposedly a solid game, but it's also a much smaller, restrictive world.

Thanks Lil Frier. I just confirmed with MS chat that it's the plain Forza 5 version so you are correct. I didn't know the GOTY only contained a single dlc content though. That is kind of lame.

Also, thanks for the price info. It sounds like I'm better off saving the $50 credit for something else.

For those who play shooters (BF4,COD,Destiny, etc on XB1), are any of the other controllers worth the extra dough? i.e. Armed Forces ? Even Forza has a new one that has a few other controls.

But do any of them really enhance the gameplay ? Specifically I am looking for better accuracy and feedback in FPS. Or are these controllers like Armed Forces pretty much cosmetic upgrades only with slightly better ergonomic design?

You know that those things are just paint job, right? The only controller that's actually different/better is the $150 Elite controller. The Titanfall, CoD AW, Forza, and Armed Forces controllers are just a different coat of paint.

For the record, I have the Titanfall one, and it looks pretty cool. My brother-in-law has the CoD one, it's neat as well. The Forza 6 one looks really nice. The Armed Forces ones are kind of stupid.

There is an updated controller with a 3.5mm headset port on it so you don't need the adapter anymore. The bumpers are designed to hinge differently to be easier to press as well.

Other than that they are all the same with a different coat of paint. As was mentioned the elite controller releasing this fall will be closer to what you're looking for with customization options for the sticks and extra triggers on the back side.

Thanks for the replies about the controllers. Going to pass on them for now. I bought the Xbox One Stereo Headset instead. And was very glad I did. Lets me game with much more privacy and without disturbing my Son after I put him to bed. Decent purchase for 50 bucks.

Take a look at the scuf controllers. Pricey but pretty cool.

Not sure if this is against the rules, but could someone please invite me to the Xbox One Preview membership? My Xbox Name is RaptureMe Thanks In Advance!!
