From the previews I was interested in the division but since it's been delayed so far ahead I'm not sure now. It's not like Destiny at all its more of a team survival game with similar aspects for combat.

and its ubisoft so you know it's gonna be buggy as hell.

Yea for the pc of course it will be. Who knows what it will look like by the time its out. I enjoyed watchdogs on ps4 but a lot of people had issues on computer. I liked the concept for the division a lot, I just don't think it will be as good as they are trying to make it. And 2016...I have no clue what games I'll be playing by then. Too far ahead to really care.

Quick question, I'm looking to upgrade my phone and I'm more than likely going to get the iPhone 6. But is there anything a windows phone can do in terms of interacting with the xbox one that the smartglass app on iOS cannot?

I'm not even sure what more you would want. As it is, really the only thing I use SmartGlass for is a keyboard (to type messages, or enter in a long code, etc.)

I have the iPhone version and am not aware of any features it is missing in SmartGlass. However, the uses of SmartGlass itself are so small it isn't even worth the app download, IMO. It just isn't good. The integration adds very little in every instance I've used it.

The app is the same across the board. Android, windows phone, and iOS all the same.

What I use it for sometimes is a remote for TV. I can browse the one guide on the app through my phone without covering whatever is on screen. I can click on a show or movie in the app and it will give me the info for it and I can set it to play on the tv right from the app. When I use the one guide through the console it will display full screen and cover the picture. So if I am watching the game I can see what is on next without interrupting anyone else watching.

If I didn't have one I'd buy one for the free games.

NHL 15 is available from EA Access right now. Full game.

Did they set a time limit (6 hours) like they did with Madden or did that even end up being an issue?

I don't know. The time limit was game time I believe. I didn't see this one mentioned anywhere, I just happen to check since the game comes out on Tuesday.

They did announce via twitter than they will do a spot of maintenance at 2:00PM Pacific so you may have an outage when playing during that time.

edit: 6 hours. That's probably going to be how it is going forward

Good to know.. that's about the best use for it that I've come across.

Might jump on this... want one for Halo but not sure I should buy now or wait.

You can get two games for free. Madden or Forza with a bundle and then have your pick for the second.

I'm still going to be getting the Sunset Overdrive bundle with the white console.

Yeah I was thinking of getting the white console too. I don't want Madden or Forza.

Well free is free heh, but I understand. In all honesty, knowing what I know now I wouldn't get anything without the kinect except the sunset overdrive or CoD console because it is a unique color.

Why is that? I'm about to pick up a One and was looking at the Kinect-less Madden bundle.

I wouldn't consider one without the Kinect, but that is because I've actually used it. Most people who cry about it, haven't used it. I know a few are in situations where they can't actually use the Kinect due to their setups (purbeast, for example), but for the most part everyone harping against it hasn't used it. And, the refuse to.

The voice integration is by far it's best feature. And while this shouldn't require a Kinect, just some kind of voice input, it does for the Xbox One as far as I know. Plenty of games include voice commands and it is extremely useful. You'd be surprised just how nice it is being able to yell "Spike, spike, spike!" in Madden to stop the clock vs finding the play on the menu (which can take precious time off the clock in a close game).

Because you give up one of the more interesting portions of Xbox One usage and you don't even get back the cost of getting a kinect separately later. There are quirks and some features certain people are against using, but honestly outside a handful of exclusives and the UI there isn't enough difference to get it over a PS4 or vice versa.

It's one thing if you were a person so against getting a Kinect but the One was the console you had to get for one reason or another. But if your a person that could be swayed either way I would probably say that if your not getting a Kinect the PS4 might be the better system for you.

im not against using the kinect for some stuff, it's just far from a necessity.

i logistically can't even use it and ms doesn't seem to care to make an extension cable for it. i highly doubt they will ever make one too because they have already basically dropped kinect.

if i were to get an x1 now and didn't own one, even if i could use the kinect, i'd save the $100 and get one without it.

I'm thinking of picking an Xbox one up even though I may not use it much. Probably for exclusives later or to give to my brother. Although he would not want it since he's had a ps3 all this time. I have a 32 inch tv sitting in my walk in closet so I've been thinking about it and the two free games is a nice perk. I also would not be able to use the kinnect since I would need to pull that tv out each time I wanted to play.

I dunno I need a new cell phone right now more than I could use another console. I wish I had more time for games.

I use Kinect .0001% of the time. If someone came into my house and stole just the Kinect sensor, not sure I would even notice or care.

I like the features it offers. Xbox record that, Xbox go to *game or app name* , Xbox watch TV, Xbox on, Xbox turn off, Xbox one guide, Xbox watch *channel name* , Xbox mute. Then in madden and FIFA you can use kinect for audibles and substitutions.

It can also recognize me when I walk into the room and grab a controller if the system is on, logging me in and setting my buttons if the game supports that feature. Killer instinct for example is supposed to be able to recognize you via kinect and set your controller button map and highlight your most used character for you. I don't know if that works as I haven't really aged that game in a bit.
