I'm annoyed. My Xbox updated but then it makes me do the TV setup all over again as if I never did it before and my kinect wouldn't turn on the console. When I touched the power button it shut down completely instead of starting in quick start mode. That stuff shouldn't happen from an update, your settings should be saved forever. It doesn't help that I had to shut the system off completely again and start up fresh to get sound from my cable box. Now the OneGuide doesn't work right and it's showing all channels even when I have the option to hide SD duplicates selected.
While the media player is a nice addition, it needs to be able to connect via a network. Limiting it to USB storage is kind of pathetic IMO. I understand it's a preview so before you say that let me get that out there. They should have gotten it to work as the 360 did where you can connect to devices on a network before they released it in my opinion. I can already tell windows to play a video to my XB1, i just need a browser that can connect the other way. Not a big deal, but things like this should be fleshed out before they release them. When it's released with half the functionality it should have, it comes off as releasing updates for the sake of releasing updates and to give the impression that they are constantly updating the console. I'd rather them wait a couple months and do a big comprehensive update than to release things that have half the promised features. They said DLNA will come to the media player by the end of the year, I'd have rather waited. That's just me though.
