follow up to this article from Albert Penello from MS
Statement from Albert in other thread:

Also to be clear. One of the benefits of publishing games on Xbox One – ALL game developers get Dedicated Servers, Cloud Processing, and “storage” (for save games) free.

If you want to do dedicated servers on other platforms, you have to prop them yourself. But on Xbox One, while developers can choose to use their own methods, we make it available to everyone.

There should be no confusion on this point. We do not charge developers for Dedicated Servers.

Does anyone know if your XBL acct will transfer over ?

I have xbox 360 and want to keep that for when my son plays, he can log into XBL.... but I wont be able to log into XBL on the XB1 ?

you can be on the same xbl account on a 360 and x1 at the same time, they have confirmed that. you can't be on the same xbl account on 2 of the same consoles at the same time.

GFWL logs you out of the 360 currently. Hopefully, games that require that will either get patched or something, because it is incredibly annoying.

yeah i'm 100% positive that they have made it clear you can use the xbl account on both consoles at the same time. ill try to find a link.

The important part:

You’ll be able to bring your Gamertag from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One, just like you could bring it from the Xbox to the Xbox 360. But your Xbox Live profile is much more fluid now. Signing into your Microsoft account associated with your Gamertag will show your profile whether it’s for games on Xbox One or Xbox 360. The same profile will work on both consoles. You can also be simultaneously logged-in on an Xbox One and an Xbox 360 using the same Xbox Live account.

You can freely roam across any number of Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles in your home, but you can’t sign into two Xbox One consoles or two Xbox 360 consoles at the same time using the same profile. And no, you can’t chat or play cooperatively or against your profile in the same game online with the two different consoles.

Yes you can use both systems with a single account at the same time, but you cannot use two XB1 systems with the same account at the same time. Which is strange cause I'm sure eventually people will have more than one XB1 and would like to use a singular account on both machines (for billing purposes) but didn't they say you can create child accounts or something that link to the parent account and simply require authorization (password etc) to make purchases and view certain content?

There was one interesting thing that they said about game saves and such. They said that saves were becoming transparent to the user, so I assume it will become more like the PS3. Essentially, the 360 always asks you where your save location is, which you can select the cloud. The PS3 treats your save location (defaulted to the HDD) as a cache for the cloud, which is what I'm guessing the X1 will do.

Ugh, I still hate the term "the cloud", and I feel dirty using it. :|

So you mean my trusty USB drive may actually find use again? 😛
