The same guy who designed the 360 voice stuff apparently was not the one in charge this time. This is all rumor I believe but that's what's being discussed over at neoGAF.

it still just does not make any sense at all to do it the way he's claiming it is done. it's like reinventing the wheel to make it square instead of round.

its funny that the sony fanboys are down voting this thread too. i noticed this morning it had 5 stars on it and now there are 3.

not that i care about stars and ratings of threads, but i just noticed it since there are so many threads with ratings. i also noticed last week that both of exdeath's threads he started were 1 star lol.

Ratings for threads is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of, for the exact reasons you observe. Fanboys are rampant and rabid, and a cancer on gaming. Like what you like, let others like what they like, and stop being petty I say.

I come from the planet Earth, the land of the soil rotting pollution.

But seriously, I was just asking because someone else said it won't be on the XBone, I don't know for sure myself.

Your "HAHA" on the end throws off your intentions, assuming they were good.

Yes, there will be party chat on the X1, there's just rumors that it'll be broken at launch because they no longer use an API and instead rely on developers to implement their own VOIP solution.

Which seems completely moronic. They have a very good VOIP system already in place. Why would they rely on the developers to implement their own for cross game chat? I find that highly suspect.

Exactly it makes no sense. The cross game chat was my biggest issue with ps3. If its right in ps4 and wonky on the Xbox one ill go sony for sure.

The only exclusive I want to play is plants vs zombies garden warfare. If it wasn't for that one game I'd just buy a ps4 and be done with it since all I play is cod and sports games

please make up your mind you are confusing me!

From the start they should of had the kinect seperate so they could match the ps4 price wise on systems and let the consumer buy the kinect if they wanted it. I know I'm not buying a kinect that I'll never use so Sony was the best route for me

VGLeaks has some information (1 2) on game install size:

Call of Duty Ghosts: 49GB
Ryse: 47GB
Forza 5: 35GB
Dead Rising 3: 35GB

To note, the Call of Duty source was from the PlayStation 4 copy, but you would probably assume that they'll be the same.

All I can say about this is... ouch. We're going to be eating through our hard drive space like crazy! 😱 There doesn't seem to be any indication that these are optional installs. At least the X1 lets you use USB drives, but to be honest, I don't like the idea of slapping external HDDs off any of my consoles (PS4 doesn't support it anyway).

Yea that is a lot of space for a game. What type of disks are they using? The amount of compression on this must be crazy too. Lots more textures and visuals to process so yea the install for these will probably take time.

Both consoles use Blu-Ray discs. I'm guessing they're all using two-layer discs as well, which gives them about 50GB of space.
