Heading over to a buddies place to watch it with him and his brother and law.

We've got all the essentials. A 72" HDTV, Ingredients to make Primanti Brothers Sandwiches, a case of Iron City, and about 3 gallons of local microbrew.

Well don't get me wrong, if I had the $$$, and with the Packers in the game, I'd be in north Texas in a heart beat (my brother is going that asshole). But I refuse to ever go to a "Superbowl Party" or even have people over to my house to watch the game. MAYBE, just MAYBE a select buddy or two over, but they are super-fans themselves so they know when the hell to shut up and watch.

Kinda funny story out of MKE. One of the biggest (if not biggest) morning radio personalities here, is pretty much torn between the teams. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh and is a huge Steelers fan (had season tickets with Dad/Grandpa etc... ticket stubs from Immaculate Reception etc etc). But he's been in MKE now literally half his life (been here 26yrs and is 52 years old). Obviously, being in the job/role that he has in the community. he' grown to be a big Packer supporter too... so he is pretty much torn between the two teams at this point. No matter who wins, he wins... but he also loses. Pretty unique position he's in I think especially given his job.

Welp, looks like I'll be watching the Super Bowl from a pharmacy.

My wife works that night and no one would take her shift. Even though she's the only person there who's from Wisconsin, and the only person there who cares even a little bit about football. She'll put it on the TV and I'm going over there to watch it with her.

No where. Just like all Packers games, I do my best to keep my ass in MY chair. In MY house watching MY TV.... last thing I want or need is idiots around me.

I'm torn. I have invites from two people and the local Packer Backer Fan Club. I can see watching the game with 50+ Albany Packer Backers at a bar, but then I don't have my kids watching it with me. They're selling tickets for $25 which includes free beer/mixers and a buffet at half time.

Then my friend's house has all the ammenities for a proper Super Bowl. Two 55" TVs to accomidate everyone watching the game. He has a couple of Steeler fans also that are invited to the party. He always sets out a nice spread.

My other invite is from my wife's cousin, a Steeler Fan. We've got a bet on the game so it might be interesting watching the game unfold. But his friends pretty much side with him as far as Steelers/Packers, so I'd be the lone guy there.

Then, should I stay home, I'll be a mess watching it. Probably be waking the kids three or four times during it. My MIL broke her shoulder and my wife has been taking care of her. It would be nice to watch the Super Bowl with my kids, even if it's only for a couple of minutes. But I guess it's better to be a mess at home than in public. WooHoo watching the game on a 27" LowDef TV! At least I won't be charged an arm and a leg for the beer and brats. Man, it's times like this I could just hop on a plane and watch the game back home. Wouldn't have such an issue.

Anyway, I hear that someone in Wisconsin is making a Titletown Towel. Bad idea in my opinion. Any Packer fan getting one of those spits in the face of tradition and pays homage to the Steeler Tradition.

Packer fans. If you currently own one of those towels, you need to burn it immediately and put on your Cheesehead. It's our tradition. No one else does what Pack Nation does. Everyone tries to copy us. Now we're stooping to the level of the Terrible Towel? I would feel ashamed and embarassed waving that thing during the Super Bowl. I am not disparaging the Terrible Towel. I'm against America's Pack using a copy of the Terrible Towel.

Yeah that's another reason for staying home too... my kids. Well my 9 year old at least. I wouldn't want to watch it without him. Definitely should be a great memory (assuming a Packers win). In fact I suggested that he could invite a buddy over too to watch it with us, but it will be so late, and a school night too. I'm always amazed that they don't move the SB to a Saturday to accommodate all those people that have work/school/etc the next day.

Where is everyone going for the Superbowl?

I have a shitty bar right around the corner from my house. The best thing they make is pretzels with sweet mustard sauce.
Or I can go out of my way a bit and find a place about 2 miles out with much superior food and babes. And their pretzels are almost as good, but they use nachos cheese instead of mustard. Only downside is I wont be able to walk home if I get drunk.
Actually, the place thats close is still too far to walk in January. So maybe I should just stay sober.

You guys?

I have people over. That way I can make the snacks and supply the beer.

I keep going over the match-up in my head, but no matter how hard I try I can't pick the Steelers. The Packers just seem too good and with Pouncey now out too, I think it may be just too hard for them to survive the onslaught from GB's Defensive front. Of course Big Ben could make some special plays to overcome it, but I don't want to rely on that.

I'm putting my money on the Packers to cover the 2.5.

The best part about this game is that Jerry Jones has to watch two of the league's most storied franchises vie for the championship in his brand new arena

I've taken the Monday after the super bowl off ever since I've been working. Sick day, personal day, vacation day, floating holiday, whatever it takes!

In related news, Troy Polamalu took the DPOY award. I'm surprised it wasn't Harrison again, but either one is fine with me.

Watching it in Vegas. Bunch of buddies going so either finding a spot or just watching it in the hotel room with the treasure-trove of local micro brews we're bringing along.

As a life long Packer fan, this is going to be so great.

This is a lot younger team than our team that went to SB 31, we could establish dominance for a long time...IF WE WIN. Don't want a Buffalo Bills type situation here. (Silence of the Lambs fans will LOL).

A-Rodge is a real breath of fresh air compared to his holyness Brett. Favre was an arrogant ass who imploded in NUMEROUS high pressure situations.

Am really happy for Driver, what a pro. He deserves this, as does Woodson.

I am not the biggest Mccarthy fan, but if he wins this, I will not give him any more shlt. Also, hope they can lock Dom Capers up for a few more years even if it costs $$.

Well hell...it looks like the game has already been decided. Not much reason to watch now...

Steelers will win Super Bowl XLV, predicts Madden 11

"Forget Punxsutawney Phil -- Madden 11, EA's pigskin prognosticator, has emerged from its burrow just in time to make its annual wintery pick.

And it's going with Pittsburgh.

According to the simulation, the Steelers storm back from an early fourth quarter deficit to narrowly beat the Green Bay Packers, 24-20, nabbing their record seventh Vince Lombardi Trophy. With five catches for 111 yards -- including the game-winning TD -- Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace wins the MVP.

EA Sports has been using Madden to predict the Super Bowl winner for years now, and the famed football franchise is proving eerily good at it. Not only has Madden correctly picked six of the last seven winners, it's actually been quite close on the final scores in a few of them.

Super Bowl XXXVIII
Madden: Patriots 23, Panthers 20
Actual Score: Patriots 32, Panthers 29

Super Bowl XXXIX
Madden: Patriots 47, Eagles 31
Actual score: Patriots 24, Eagles 21

Super Bowl XL
Madden: Steelers 24, Seahawks 19
Actual score: Steelers 21, Seahawks 10

Super Bowl XLI
Madden: Colts 38, Bears 27
Actual score: Colts 29, Bears 17

Super Bowl XLII -- WHOOPS
Madden: Patriots 38, Giants 30
Actual score: Giants 17, Patriots 14

Super Bowl XLIII
Madden: Steelers 28, Cardinals 24
Actual score: Steelers 27, Cardinals 23

Super Bowl XLIV
Madden: Saints 35, Colts 31
Actual score: Saints 31, Colts 17

So it botched the underdog Giants victory in 2008, but check out the scores of the two recent Pittsburgh wins. Madden might not be Grays Sports Almanac, but with that kind of track record, we're not inclined to bet against it."

Fuck that...Yes, the game MAY be able to predict the winner...or not. We'll just have to see on Sunday.

Regardless of who wins or loses...I'm still happy to see these two long-time favorites battle it out.

Slightly off topic but I just noticed that DHS has taken down ATDHE.net as well as some other sports streaming sites. Though I'm sure no one here would even think of visiting them. :D

Why would anyone need to stream the superbowl? It's available in HD on basic cable or OTA.

Does everyone own a TV or want to watch the superbowl on their TV?

Did I say anything about streaming the superbowl?

Did I say anything in my post about it being off topic?
