Anyone else's ps4 loose sound after the update? I turned it on last night and saw a static bar across the bottom of my tv and when it booted up I had no audio what so ever. Had to turn it off then back on.

The tv is new I recently bought it so I wasn't sure what it could be. Seems to happen after the ps4 has been off for a while.

Tried it this morning and it didn't do the same thing.

Dont have that sorry.

Any idea when the stores will be getting the consoles back in stock?

They have been in and out with limited quantities from amazon and local stores. You just gotta keep checking.

If you are really interested then see if your local GameStop is doing a call list. Some stores do it as a courtesy and call people when consoles come in so they kbow there is some stock.

I've yet to see any on a shelf. Haven't looked for them but for how often I go to Fry's, Best Buy, Target, Costco, Gamestop, etc.. you'd think I'd have seen one by now.

I've seen 2 in the last 3 months. But I've seen palettes of Xbox Ones. I'm guessing that's why they sold more in December, you could find them.

I have never seen the box there but I have seen signs saying they have some stock and to ask for assistance.

i'm not sure why it matters what's on the shelf or not, one it could mean someone isn't shipping enough hardware, two i don't think either console has enough good games to warranty a purchase right now to many gamers?

Isn't the PS4 launching in Japan today?

Yup some there's another huge jump in sales.

Sony played it fairly well, they launched in the US first because they knew they would have a harder time selling there. Japan is a lock so they knew they didn't have to launch early there.

That's what Nintendo did with the Wii. Though you're playing with fire using the Cartman "you can't come" technique.

I suspect the reason for the shortage is Sony is diverting stock to meet demand in the Asia-Pacific. Japanese gamers haven't warmed up to the Wii U and hates Xbox, so there's a big gaping whole in the market right now.

Strider is pretty good. I played the hell out of the Genesis version. It's certainly Strider, Double Helix did good. Very happy to see Strider get some love, one of my favorite games back in the day.

Woah, they still don't have enough consoles.

Read an article recently (sorry don't got link, but Google should) to expect limited supple until April.

I could only imagine how many units the could sell if they could keep up with demand.

Yea that is suprising. I was expecting no consoles until maybe end of january or so when holiday season is done. But they are also launching in Japan. I've never seen them on shelves like Xbox one but I'm sure they have been kept in the back of stores.

I wasn't expecting it to be out of stock for so long.

Xbox One around here are coming out of our ears. For fun I marked one a couple of weeks ago with a pen, just a tiny dot on the bottom (Costco). Today at a little past 7PM I checked it again, still there. It was on the front of the stack, the easiest one to grab.

I'm returning something on Sunday, if it's still there I'll post a pic, haha.

I saw my very first ps4 for sale at target the other day. Xbox has been available in spades for a while. I am surprised ps4 shortages have been so significant.

i still am asking do you seriously think the PS4 is creaming the X1 right now, tell me the games. why does the "console wars" concept exist between adults?

i'm saying who gives a flying crap what console is selling or not right now?

On the sales side, I haven't seen a PS4 on a shelf yet, and I've observed about a $400 asking price on Craiglist for my city. Xbox One is available everywhere (haven't seen it sold out since December), and it's price has devalued on Craigslist to $400 for an Xbox One + Game, sometimes dropping as low as about $350.
