I bought 'FF14 ARR' over the holidays for 10 bucks for the PS3. I really liked the game, but it seemed that the PS3 wasn't quite strong enough to play it right, so I got the PC version. It looks dramatically better on the PC....

I'm really looking forward to FF14 ARR on the PS4 now, since its going to be a pretty serious upgrade to the PS3 version of the game, and I'll be able to play more on my TV when I'm in the mood. Right now I'm heavily favoring the PC version of the game, since it performs and looks,so much better.

The only hickup I see is... Voice chat. HMM... I have a few months to figure out how I'm going to talk to PC players efficiently from the PS4.

Tomb Raider was awesome. I highly recommend.

If only I hadn't already played it on the PS3. That was a helluva game.

In other news, my son bought Knack with some christmas money and beat it. Now its my turn. Its turning out to be a much better game than I thought it would be. Very difficult actually, even on Normal mode. He beat it on easy. Its not amazing, but when the price hits around 30 bucks I'd recommend it.

well I'm putting my stupid ps4 up on craigslist... nba2k14 2 controllers... gonna try to get what I bought it for... sorry just saw it go for less than that..

Well, then console gaming isn't for you. Should have built a gaming PC if you wanted new hardware and instant access to a massive game library.

I'm eventually gonna want one, I love the uncharted series, and the last of us. Hell even heavy did good for me. Loved Forza Motorsport also...

Plus I have a pretty good gaming rig already 🙂

But I want consoles for my action/adventure games/racing games... I did like all the GOW's except ascension (couldn't play through it due to boredom)

I just want coop. Sony fans are saying this is the answer to Gears, but without a good coop system it will fall short of that.

I don't know why people think there needs to be an "answer to gears of war" because to me Gears is not that special. There's tons more games I like much better. I just don't get that argument. There doesn't need to be an answer to any game, just make good games and people will buy the hardware. It doesn't have to be the "next game that is like that other game on that other console except it is supposed to be better"

I just want SP games. I hate other people. I don't want to rely on other people for my enjoyment. Plus, I have a family and need to be able to stop and pick up when I can.

I don't see how people were saying it is the answer to Gears. We know nearly nothing about the game besides the setting and that it is third person and not open.

Oh man you're tuggin at my heart strings with that comment. There are others like me! I'm just totally sick of multiplayer right now. I'm too old to keep up with the dudes that are putting in 40+ hours a week...I just want some good co-op I can play with my son.

+1 on single player.

Tired of arena style vs mode competitive only play being forced into everything. Some of us are doing ok in life and don't need to constantly cross dicks with the internet in macho competitive K/D games online to justify our existence, we just want to get lost in a fairy tale world and a touching story.

I agree as well. I like single player games because you have all the time in the world to play the game at your own pace. No need to "measure up" to some overly competitive multiplayer game where in the end you're just playing to show off a set of number statistics. K/D are just numbers displayed on the screen and it doesn't require a supercomputer to render those set of numbers on the screen.

Videogaming high scores list have "evolved" from showing off your pacman scores and being on top of the list in the video arcades to your K/D ratio being on top on the multiplayer game summary screen.
I can understand if you're obsessing over your calculus test scores in school or budgeting your personal finances, but whatever happened to good plain fun?

There was a time when multiplayer was all that interested me, but that time seems to have faded. As you say, at the end of the day you're just showing off stats to people you don't even know. It really is chasing personal validation to a large extent.

I prefer great single player over multiplayer any day. Of course by great I mean fun with an interesting story and a lot to do. I haven't been too interested in the order but it looks like something different than I normally would play.

Meh I don't care, if the single player is awesome, then great, if the multiplayer is awesome, then great. Gaming is gaming.

Not really.

The problem with great multiplayer is that it relies on other people, usually strangers, to MAKE it great.
Left 4 Dead was one of the best mp experiences I've had, but all it took was one douche or two and your gaming night was basically ruined.

It's great if you have a huge network of trusted friends for a bunch of different games, but if not, it's a total crapshoot.
