NBA2K14 isn't getting such great reviews either from what I've seen. People are saying it is just a slightly graphics update from NBA2k13 and some of the physics are better, but the dribble controls are wonky and they've removed features (if you are on the line and are taking a shot, no longer will you automatically step back to make it a 2 and the camera options in the replay are less than previous generations).

My big problem is they are nickle and diming you for extra shoes in the game from what I hear. Although, I think this was in previous versions as well.

Shoes lol...that's why I play basketball games.

The game got good reviews. Averaging above 80 is pretty good IMO.

I'm going to try out the fifa demo later today. Usually my amazon orders process pretty quickly last times I used free shipping. I'm expecting that hard drive by tomorrow. Amazon says it should be in by 8 pm.

Yeah 2k14 looks almost like a real game on TV at a glance. At my buddy's house friday night someone walked into the room and said something to the effect of "I didn't know the game was still on". He thought it was an actual TV broadcast at first but once we pointed out the blue circles around our player he got it. Live on the other hand just looks bad...really bad.

Yeah. I actually thought they were showing NBA footage in one of the videos, but it was the game. Very impressive!

Extra shoes? 😀 If there is a demo, I will give that a shot. It certainly looks amazing and I have not played a decent NBA game in years.

If I don't switch inputs fast enough the PS4 gets turned on which is annoying. I'll have to see how long it takes using the controller.

Yeah, there are a ton of shoes in the game (as in real life) but you have to purchase them with real money I believe. Say, you wanted your created player to wear Jordan 11s, you'd have to pay $0.99 or whatever to unlock them.

You'd be surprised how many people care about shoes.

It must have gone up with more reviews, because when I looked at it on PS4 launch it was low 70s. A lot of the information I got about it was from some of my friends, who are hardcore NBA2K players. I have a friend who I think has purchased every single iteration since Dreamcast.

i really disslike HDMI-CEC to be honest, it never wants to work right and there are times when i only want to turn 1 thing off and it turns too many things off and well i just dissabled it

Unfortunately, while HDMI-CEC is built into the HDMI protocol, what each manufacturer does with it is completely up to them. For example, I like what my old Mitsubishi and my new Vizio TV do with it. If I turn on my TV, it turns on the receiver, and turning off the TV turns off the receiver. If I turn on a PlayStation (3 or 4), it will turn on the TV, which turns on the receiver and sets the proper input.

Unfortunately, my LG TV isn't nearly as good. Now, it works a similar way when you turn on a device like a PlayStation 3, but if I turn the TV on separately from a device, it won't turn the receiver on. I don't really care for the HK receiver that I'm using with that TV, so I'd prefer to avoid using its awful remote. Since my mom's plasma is suffering from color bleed, I'm tempted to just give her the LG TV and buy a smaller version of the same Vizio that I use. The LG has plenty of features and she doesn't have an AVR anyway.

so what exactly is the point of keeping the ps4 in standby mode, other than it allowing you to charge your controllers while it is "off"? is it just so it can turn on faster?

It will do updating for games/system.

Ah yeah I forgot about this. Once you have psn plus you can set it up in settings to download system and games and updates while it is in standby. It's like the new "off" when they said the controllers will charge when it's off.

i believe they said you would not need ps plus for auto updates, the only thing behind the paywall on the ps4 seems to be multiplayer

So how does it work when it lets you play the game before it's installed? When I downloaded the games there were two separate things that downloaded and one said install (much smaller download that finished first). I'm assuming that's it? Woulda been neat, I admit.

oh okay cool that isn't that bad. ill probably never use standby though i'd rather just have it powered off i think for the most part when not in use.

You could be right. When I first try to set it up I had not signed in to psn. It showed the ps plus symbol so I figured you needed psn plus. Would not make sense requiring it. Because even if you did not have psn plus your game updates would still need to be downloaded and installed.

I noticed in stand by it makes a very faint noise? Maybe the fan on low or it wasn't turned off yet.

seems to work in capsules, downloading small modules at a time, reminds me of the way blizzard does wow, downloading starting areas first and streaming whatever is next

yeah i don't think i would sell a $600+ ps4 on craigslist to be honest. i put an add out there for $550 and got a few people asking me about it, but the way they typed i strongly doubt i would have actually met up with them, if they even wanted to.

The few times I sold stuff on CL, I met them in the lobby of my local Police Station. The cops in my area encourage it and I'm it is the same in other areas as well.

I've bought / sold plenty of things on CL and always end up meeting in a public place. I sold an iPad at Starbucks. I think I'd do the local police station for a PS4, but even then, it doesn't mean you won't be robbed on your way to the car.

If anyone has Assassin's Creed IV on the PS4, it was just patched to run at native 1080p (as opposed to the prior 900p). Screenshots looking nice, pretty darn close to the PC version.
