I'm excited and nervous. This is the first console I'm getting on launch day, ever. I just hope their servers can handle day one or there will be a lot of unhappy mofo's around here.

I'm guessing this launch will be better than previous ones. But, expect issues and you won't be disappointed. 😉

You'd be guessing wrong! Every launch that involves servers will go bad. Just expect the worst, and when you are actually able to play, then you win! Strangely, I was able to download BF4 on release day from Origin at 3.2mb/s (which is abouts the highest I hit on my connection), so I was pleasantly surprised.

Same here! I've always waited a year or two for the price drop before buying, so I'm pretty pumped this time around. I really like that the PS4 is gaming ready right out of the box so I can play the instant it arrives.

yeah with all these dlc games at launch, i hope the servers can handle them. the 2 games i really care about are dlc.

I have the BF4 bundle on preorder from Amazon but I'm not opening it until xmas day (gift for me and the little guy). On one hand I'm gonna be pretty antsy reading about everything for a month while it sits in the closet, on the other it will give them some time to work out the bugs.

I wish they would let us download this Day 1 patch NOW. Let me put it on a USB thumbdrive so I don't have to rely on their servers for a launch day download.

Call them ask them to ship you an install CD they should do it.

The update was up for a short bit to DL but it got pulled. I'm guessing they will have it up before launch to download again.

So it's just a problem of finding who has the file and getting them to share it.

Wish you could but seeing as the PS4 doesn't support external usb devices/hard drives there would be no point. Were just going to have to download it and hope the servers arnt too slow!

Maybe they will open a d/l for the image a few days early and you can update via USB when you pull it out of the box.

Usb 3.0 is supported it says so in that chart. Seriously though why can't you call them and have them ship a CD. You will get it by the time the system is out.

Edit: downloading the update now. It's 308mb. Anyone who wants it I'll upload to my dropbox. It's a rar file and only one so far not sure if an additional file is needed.

Pretty sure they said you can still load an update via a USB drive... just like you can on the PS3.
