Finally, in a post-event interview on the LiveCast, it was mentioned that “pretty much every commercial racing wheel will work with DriveClub.” We’ll likely have to wait until closer to launch for a full list of what they are, but this is definitely good news for wheel owners.
not sure why this is a surprise. when is the last time a previous console's controller worked on the current ones. i believe it was psx controllers working on ps2. it would be a stupid business decision for them.
xcm has already confirmed though that they will be working on adapters for ps4 and xbox1 as soon as the console are released. i'll probably pick up a madcatz te2 at launch then hopefully down the road i will get my joysticks converted to work on the new gen consoles.
i may just get a wired x1 controller and mod my joystick with that.
and if you spent $200 on a te, you're doing it wrong.

USB peripherals worked from PS2 to PS3.. like the old Logitech wheels.
Yes they did which is good but it's usually not the case.
The PS4 still uses Bluetooth for connectivity just like the PS3 did. I assume the reason why they wouldn't want PS3 controllers working is for things like the touchpad, share button, light bar, all that jazz.

Yah, but in the case of USB its almost certainly a case of them putting a chip that excludes them on purpose. Not like a lot a console changes were the port changed, or the RF protocol changed. I mean those were probably on purpose too, but at least we could pretend.
any word on headsets yet? would be annoyed if my headset wont work. it uses optical and USB
personally since we have to pay for online now I really hope they give us a headset, even if its a cheap one, with the console. $400 dollars is a nice price tag, but put 50 dollars online +headset and its not very close to $400 any more.
It includes a cheap wired earbud headset which plugs into the controller - similar to the default 360 headset.
I've got a wireless headset for my 360 which also supports Bluetooth mode, so hopefully it will work with the PS4.

Given that Unity runs on PS and Sony is embracing indies...
Sick of no RPGs and want to take matters into own hands, but Im just a programmer with two left brains.
I didn't know it comes with a headset? Or are you talking of third party controllers ?

Oh ok so the headset is like the one that comes with the iphone. Hope it's decent.
unless they are giving us ones as good as my Triton's i don't care whats in the box
I'm sure it's not decent since they're giving it away but I don't recall any new systems giving you a headset with it so I won't mind if it sucks.
The 360 Premium did I remember when I got it at launch it had a headset in it.
What are the chances that Sony or Amazon will throw in a little something something for Launch Edition customers? I think that would be pretty cool. Not expecting anything of course.
