For the record, I like Assassin's Creed 1, though I admit the side missions were very repetitive. I have no idea what "hot girl" you guys are talking about. I don't pay attention to marketing hype.

Jade Raymond. I can't believe people got so worked up over her. She was selling the game just like everyone else in the industry. You want to be pissed on someone, throw some hate Dice's way!

I didn't pay much attention to Assassin's Creed prior to release, but I do remember seeing news articles and photos taken of her as she'd talk on stage about the game. It all did have quite the Molyneux feel to it as I remember a lot of talking about how great things would be, but there was nothing to demo.

I remember the talk about how great AC was back when the PS3 was launching.

Yes I agree that the story in Ac pretty much sucked. That and it was very similar gameplay. But this one is actually really nice to play. The graphics are great and the naval battles are interesting.

Interesting, you guys have me intrigued. I kind of liked AC II when I played it on PC, but I never finished it (maybe I should do that at some point).

I liked the lore and the historical information given in the AC games. The story was kind of odd though and AC3 really threw me off and I have very little idea what's going on.

So... anyone have a problem with the Playstation app on Android where no matter what you press in the app it just keeps redirecting to the browser saying successfully signed in?

Never played AC1, heard it sucked. Played AC2 for the first time this summer. Was pretty solid, even though the combat was obscenely easy. Intended to play, at the least, AC3, but never got around to it. AC4 is ready for Xmas vacation and looks pretty good, plus reviews have liked it.

Lol, I think I seem to remember her showing off the game on a local morning show back when it first launched. The first Assassin's Creed was... not good. I bought it not long after it came out and only just finished it. It's definitely the weakest title in the main series.

I'm kind of mixed on AC4. There's a lot to do but it feels a little thin on story. Also a severe lack of insult sword fighting. Not one person in the game has accused me of fighting like a dairy farmer. How dare they call it a pirate game. ^_^

It did that once for me. Exit out and come back in. You should be signed in.

I sort of liked the first Assassin's Creed.

Although, all I used it for was to test how well my GPU OC was doing, by checking FPS while I wandered around hidden-blade stabbing innocent people...

I just liked that Ezio felt more like an engaging character rather than the bland Altaïr. Plus, this scene always makes me giggle.

Me to. What made AC bad wasnt' the gameplay itself, but the repetition. AC was basically a 2 hour game that the gamer was forced to play over and over again ad nauseum. It had alot of good things going for it, being the setting and grandeur. You can tell it was a proof of concept that they tried to make a full game out of. IMO they shouldn't have done the whole future versus past thing. Assassin's Creed needed the whole future relations story them as much as Indiana Jones 4 needed an alien (ahem...time voyager) theme.

I'm on chapter 9 of Killzone now and I have to say this game has some of the most annoying game mechanics in a FPS ever. There are sections where you freefall with terrible controls and have to avoid moving/falling objects. I must have restarted at least 13 times on these until I finally passed it. There was one in particular that required you to land on a certain spot where a landing pad was fired but the landing pad does not appear and unless you see exactly where the flare hit, you'll just die. You have to hit the exact spot but there is absolutely no indication of where the spot actually is. Unless you use your radar you cannot see enemies but they seem to be alerted to your approach immediately. This is usually because you are sun blinded or it's too dark and you don't have access to a flashlight. There are some stationary defense bots that are invulnerable. Literally, you cannot damage them. You need to pick up some capicator and put it in a mini power station and shoot it to blow it up. There's more than one per droid and it usually requires you to run literally right in front of it's scanners to get between them. Then there's walker droids that you need to stun then shoot and they take quite a bit of firepower to blow up (it doesn't help that they don't stay stunned for long). The other issue I have is being able to hold only one type of grenade. Like if you have a frag grenade (which is laughably underpowered) you cannot pick up EMP grenades without dropping your frag grenades. Then there's the ammo capacity of the weapons. This game is syfi, in the future presumably with advanced weaponry that is electricaly charged etc. Why do these weapons only hold 24 or 30 rounds? That's ridiculous. Especially when lots of stuff would take 3 reloads to kill.

The first level with the forest and canyons was the best out of all the levels I've seen. Too bad it was right at the beginning of the game and the rest of the game has you running through halls and labs like Doom 3. It's starting to wear me down.
Frustrating game at times.

I thought the game is pretty tough. I played like 10 minutes before I started to install a new hard drive. Should I play it on easy? What you described makes it seem kind of tough, not sure but I agree about the enemies detecting you instantly.

The stuff I describe does not change with difficulty. It's part of the way the game is designed.

Yea Killzone just isn't a great FPS. I haven't turned it on since release weekend. Don't get me wrong, it's a gorgeous game and the first level was fairly fun but it gets old fast. I should just tough it out and finish it so I can sell it.

Oh, goodness gracious! Took me a few tries, but I finally saved all the humans on the second planet on veteran. Thinking about it... the game gives me no actual bonus for doing it on a harder difficulty. I really just ought to do it on rookie and save myself all the effort. :p

Also, I was on the Housemarque forums, and there's one good thing that I read. For the keepers that have one guy in green and the rest in red (may not be able to see the reds), you have to kill the one in green first! You first get that in stage two near the end with the weird floaty squid things. Also, there are some humans that require you to have a certain multiplier to free. I think the 9th human on stage two is like that as I failed to free it once, but I didn't recall screwing up, and the next time, I had a ~10x multiplier, and he just popped out.

I haven't played it much either. Reminds me of crisis for some reason. The design is odd for an fps but it's all futuristic. The touchpad to use the bot is cool but it's overly sensitive. It's tough to sneak around at least on the first level it kind of was. I tripped alarms everywhere.

I actually returned Killzone last night without opening it. I read something on IGN about some of the campaign and how mostly it was good but a few totally unfun parts like the free fall and I thought you know I just don't need to submit myself to that.

After the hell that was the teenage mutant ninja turtles water level on the NES I just have no tolerance for parts of games that suck. That TMNT literally destroyed my entire life's capacity for such stuff in one single level. If I'm not having fun in a game, I will not play it.
