hrm... nexgenwars only shows 500k wii's sold now. Down from their originalo 750k. Did Nintendo fall short on their Wii's shipped or are those numbers just wrong?

They say that's an estimate, but they give no indication of where that estimate came from.
Considering that
1. It's sold out everywhere
2. There's no reason to believe that Nintendo didn't have time to build several million before launch, considering that they started building them months ago
I'd say that's a somewhat pessimistic estimate.
Their poll results are interesting.

as someone who pretty much ignored the gamecube but now owns the wii, are there any 'must have' games for the gc that would still be fun on the wii? I want to wait till I play twilight princess before I decide if I'm getting ocarina of time but any other recommendations for gc games would be appreciated.

Mario Super Strikers is pretty fun
Pikmin/Pikmin 2 is supposed to be good, but I've never played it.
Metroid Prime games are supposed to be good, but I don't like FPS on consoles or futuristic FPSes at all.
Super Smash Brothers Melee is considered to be really good, but I don't like fighting games
Tales of Symphonia is supposed to be a good RPG but I haven't played it yet
F-Zero GX is fun, and you can get it for ~$5 at Gamestop (used)
Luigi's Mansion is fun, but short, and can be had for ~$5 used at Gamestop
Outlaw Golf is my favorite golf game ever

Just finished COD3. I have to say, that the wiimote is most excellent for playing fps games. Although nothing will match the precision of the kb/mouse combo, the wiimote is just plain FUN. It feels so much more right to go into a room spraying your SMG all over the place without your head flying around the same way. Definitely as good as the CODs before, but lack of multiplayer is pretty harsh. And again, the sound engineer is an absolute idiot and should be fired. It's absolutely inexcusable to release a game where the sound positioning is off by 90 degrees. Did they even play the game on stereo speakers before they shipped it? Some weapons are so loud they make my receiver overflow, some are so quiet you can barely hear it. It took SO much away from the game.

I entered yesterday, and when I tried to do it again today it said "sorry, you've already registered". I know I did it sometime yesterday morning, so it's been more than 24 hours.

I brought it over to a buddies house, and we had a blast. I bought Super Monkey Ball, and I have to say, the new one isn't great at all. To be fair, we didn't have two remotes. So we will give it an honest try once we get some real multiplayer going.
The funnest I have played...Excite Truck. I thought it was meh at first. We played this one for hours on end.

Anyones Wii Lock up on them yet ?
I was playing my red steel and it locked up on me on a loading scene after I completed all 4 Missions helping out the Sato Sans Yakuza crew
Im not sure if it's my disc or my Wii.
It hasn't locked up on other games tho, like Trauma Center and Wii Sports.
Im gonna test out Zelda now.
Hopefully it's just a disc and I can exchange it.
